At the feet of the medieval village of Caldana (3km) and only 20km from the marvelous Maremma coastline. Ideally placed for day trips to Elba and Giglio Islands, Saturnia Spas, Uccellina wildlife resort. Activities within 20km are horse riding, golf, tennis, and many beaches. During the summer season all the surrounding villages organize local entertainment including open air theater and opera, dancing, stalls that sell local food specialties and plenty of restaurants. The property is in a quiet valley, completely fenced with remote control gates, so safe for children. It comprises a main house plus a pool house both with fully equipped kitchens, dining rooms and fireplaces. The private pool is 10m x 4m x 1.5m and maintenance is included in rental price. Pool is closed from Oct to beginning of May. A well kept garden of 1500sqm completes the property with a porch for sunset dining, barbecue and garden furniture for 8. Bed linen, towels and pool towels are provided on a weekly basis.

The Maremma region in Tuscany is contained in the province of Grosseto which is the main city of the province. Historically a rural area and known as the 'cowboy land' of Italy. Still today there are rodeo competitions during the summer in some areas. The coast line is lined with some of the most acclaimed beaches and tourist ports in Italy and for the last 8 to 10 years have received the Blue Flag award from the Environmental Safeguard dept. for the quality of its bathing waters. Ideally placed for day trips to Florence, Siena, Chianti wine region, Lucca and Pisa in addition to Elba Island (where Napoleon was exiled) and other small islands like Giglio and Montecristo. Food and wine are an art in the entire area and it is not necessary to go to acclaimed restaurants to enjoy an excellent meal. Many villages stage historical pageant events during the summer - the most famous being in Siena in July and repeated in mid August.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Security deposits of €300are in addition - it will be refunded within 1 week of end of stay if no damage has occurred. 30% of total rental is due on reservation, 70% plus security deposit 8 weeks prior to stay or if reservation within the 8 weeks, the entire sum is due at reservation. Cancellation fees are due according to when cancellation is made. The house is to be left in the condition it has been found. Should you require end of rental cleaning a charge of €60 will apply. Cleaning and laundering during your stay can be arranged at a cost of €12 per hour.
