Beautiful luxurious Cortijo sleeping 7/8 set in a private garden with olive, almond & fig trees comprising master bedroom with super-king size bed, en-suite bathroom with shower and bath, private terrace, views to mountains;2 further twin bedded bedrooms each with en-suite shower room; smaller bedroom with small double sofa-bed & en-suite shower room; upstairs gallery; fully fitted modern kitchen with all machines & breakfast bar; separate utility room; large galleried open plan salon with wood-burning stove & dining table for 8; outside terrace with table for 8; 9 x 4 m swimming pool with sun-bathing area; bbq. The Cortijo is 5 minutes drive from Montefrio town which has bars and restaurants & shops to cater for all tastes. It is a 1 hour drive from the coast & the ski slopes of the Sierra Nevada are 1.5 hours drive. Granada Airport is 40 minutes serviced by Ryanair. Malaga Airport is 1.5 hours drive. Granada, with the Alhambra Palace & Generalife is 1 hour away.

The house is located 5 mins drive from the beautiful white village of Montefrio, 45 mins from Granada and in easy reach for day trips to Seville & Cordoba. This area still contains many reminders of its being the last refuge of the Moors before they were driven from Spain. The house is situated in a secluded location within its own grounds overlooking olive groves to the Parapanda Mountain. From the gate you can walk off to explore the numerous surrounding tracks, hire a mountain bike or go pony trekking to the summit of Parapanda. The beach is just over an hour away, as is Skiing in the Sierra Nevada.

We stayed at this Cortijo with 2 other couples and a teenager for a week in August.
We were so pleased to arrive to an immaculate and characterful house with a beautifully-equipped kitchen, a brilliant double-height living room and 4 very comfortable en-suite bedrooms.
You can find plenty to do in the local area. We went for a couple of walks, and our friend went horse riding. We can also recommend a trip by car to the top of the facing mountain. Take a bottle of bubbly! The views of the landscape are truly breathtaking.
A couple of bikes on site would have made our stay even better - just a discrete hint for the owner ;)
Overall it was a really great stay, very relaxing and I'd happily recommend anyone to try it.

We are a family of 4, with 2 children aged 9 and 13 and visited cortijo montefrio in August 2009. This farmhouse is amazing. It has been built to a fabulous standard and is very spacious. Every bedroom is ensuite and the description provided by the owner on here just doesnt do the property justice at all.

We arrived to a very clean and well maintained house containing everything we could possibly need and more.

the property also has uk freeview channels which was great for the children and for us when they were in bed!

We had a wonderful time lazing by the pool and heading out in the car to visit various places. I would absolultely recommend a visit to sierra pelada riding school whether you ride or not. English speaking lady owns it and the horses are great. Definately a surprise highlight to our holiday. we visited granada, sierra nevada and a few beaches. all are over an hours drive away but worth a visit. Montefrio is lovely too and has a great ice cream shop!! definately give the mentochoc a try!

the owners were extremely helpful in all aspects and they have a very helpful gentleman living nearby who caters for all your needs when you are there.

remember to brush up on your spanish or have your guidebook handy as this is real spain and you most definately will not get by on english alone. you will also most definately need a car and brace yourself for the spanish town of montefrio and its little streets. I really have never been anywhere quite like it in my life. pack some comfy walking shoes, the town is on a hill!

We loved our trip to this farmhouse and wouldnt hesitate to recommend it.
