Sao Martinho do Porto holiday house

Pool : This property includes a pool which is shared with 5 other properties. In our experience our guests have almost a private pool as all the other families in the complex (5) are Portugese and work. The pool has steps and gradually slopes to a depth of 1.6m. We provide various ball and toys for children to use in the pool. The pool is at the end of the complex about 30m from the house and is south facing getting the sun all day long.

Closed condiminium: The house is in a small closed private condominium of only six houses, the other five are all owned by Portuguese families. The gates are locked and are therefore very safe for families and small children. We provide both electronic fob plus keys for side gate. The house has a designated parking space within the small complex, there is extra parking outside which we have found to be very safe. The pool is accessed through a small gate which we recommend you keep closed for the safety of small children.

Location - beach & retaurants: The house is about 800m from the town and beach though if you are bringing a lot of equipment to the beach we suggest you drive. The beach is very accessible you can choose to go to the busy end in Sao Martinho which has beach huts, showers etc or further around the bay where it is quieter and less crowded. There is a boardwalk which stretched for 1.5kms, providing a lovely walk in late evening to watch the sun setting over the bay. There is a lovely local cafe/restaurant 3mins walk from the house which is extremely reasonable €5-6 for main course, €1 for a starter, beer 80c. There is an excellent more up market restaurant 5 mins walk from the house which again is very reasonable. Portuguese food is very similar to northern European cuisine with lots of fish, meat, chips, potatoes, salad and veg. There is a huge variety of restaurants and cafes in the town a 10-15min walk away.
