Sunset Crest holiday villa: Holetown

My husband and I stayed in the upper studio apartment from May 24th-June 12 before moving into the villa for the remaining 6 days of our vacation. We found both accommodations just perfect.
The studio is large, airy and very well equipped.The bed (king-sized) was comfortable and we found no need for air conditioning although it was extremely hot while we were there. There is a ceiling fan and a stand-up fan which we found were adequate to keep us cool at night.The kitchen has all the basic necessities and we were easily able to put a meal together. The bathroom is huge with more than enough storage space for our clothing, toiletries and luggage.From the balcony, we had a nice view of the neighbouring park.No traffic at all as Plumbago is at the end of a cul-de-sac. Very quiet!The pool is absolutely beautiful and in pristine condition. It was well maintained at all times by Wayne (the owner's partner). Our son, daughter-in-law and 2year-old granddaughter joined us for 2 weeks and stayed in the villa. It was great to have them so close but at the same time to have our own "space".Access to the washing machine was invaluable! It meant not having to take as much clothing in our baggage, especially handy when packing for a 2 year old!No clothes dryer, but not needed at all. There is more than enough space on the clothesline in the backyard and clothing dries so quickly in that heat!
The villa is within easy walking distance of the grocery store, banks,stores and restaurants. All are a quick 5 minute walk. We walked a little further (less than 10 minutes to 1st and 2nd streets) for some of the restaurants. Spago's,Ragamuffin's and Elbow Room were all tasty choices. We also ate at the Beach House and Zacchio's- both pleasant alternatives. We also ate several times at the Surf Side, located on the beach behind the police station. A great little place for a quick lunch or a cold beer. Most of the clientele is from the UK with a smattering of Canadians and Americans. Watched England vs USA in the FIFA World Cup. Lots of people and lots of fun!
The review would not be complete if I didn't mention the maid, Janice. She was a godsend and we loved her. She comes 3 times/week to clean the units and to change the bedding and towels.Such hard work in such a hot climate! We appreciated her so much.Although we have been to Barbados on 5 previous holidays, we have never stayed at the same place twice. That's about to change. We'd return to Plumbago in a heartbeat!
