Located in the lovely 5 star resort of Quinta do Lago, this gorgeous villa has everything needed for a great holiday. This tastefully furnished property is located on a large plot not far from the beach and the lake where there are various watersports and a poolside bar. The comfortable lounge with feature fireplace, cable TV/DVD, has large doors leading out to the wonderful terrace and pool area. The attractive kitchen and dining area has everything needed for family life inlcluding an american style fridge/freezer and a separate utility room. There are 4 double ensuite bedrooms, 2 on the ground floor with access to the lovely terrace and pool. Upstairs there are 2 further bedrooms both with their own dressing area and ensuite as well as private terraces. There is also a bright and comfortable TV room on this level overlooking the front of the villa. Outside there is a BBQ unit complete with it's own fridge and storage. There is air-conditioning and parking with this villa

A 20 minute drive will take you to this great villa from Faro Airport. This villa is just minutes from the lovely long beach with its many beach bars. The surrounding area is quiet, just perfect for a get away from it all holiday but yet just a short drive to the Quinta Shopping for all your shopping needs. There are lots of excellent restaurants in the surrounding area as well as excellent championship Golf Courses and Tennis Clubs. How about a stroll through the narrow little streets of the Old Town of Faro which is just a 30 minute drive away. The large Forum Shopping centre is here too where there is a huge hypermarket selling just about everything. The weekly markets of Quarteira and Loule are certainly worth a visit. Lagos and Portamao should also be on the list for a visit and are about 40 minutes drive, whilst a trip further down the coast to Cape St Vincent is a 'must see'.

Shopping: There are lots of shops available locally both at the Quinta Shopping Centre, the Vale da Loba Centre and at Almancil itself. Apolonia Supermarket is located at nearby Almancil, and is worth a visit to stock up at the beginning of your holiday. There is a large modern shopping centre in Faro called Forum which has a huge hypermarket which sells just about everything. There is also a huge shopping centre just outside Albuferia at Guia. Quarteria has a terrific weekly market dealing in fruit and veg and clothes. The town of Loule located towards the mountains also has a great indoor market well worth a visit. Loule is also a great shopping town.

Golfing: There are no end of championship golf courses in the surrounding area - San Lorenzo, Quinta, Pinheiros, Laranjal to name but a few. Further afield there are numberous courses along the coast. Booking is advisable and there are lower rates available for certain times. Talk to the owner for more information

Sporting Activities: There are various Watersports on the nearby lake at Quinta do Lago Lake. Tennis is available at nearby Jim Steward or Vallverde or at Vale do Lobo. Horse Riding is available at Pinetrees or at Silvery Horse Stables Go-Karting - Parcolandia - Almancil

Wonderful Family Villa

This is the first time I have done a review but having a rented a villa for the first time direct as opposed to going through an operator I think it's important to share our experience.

The area in Quinta da Lago is fantastic, impeccably maintained and great for families, the plaza has everything you would need to make the holiday work (you must have a car thou as you cant really walk to places) It has a good supermarket for the basics (it's a bit pricey), so if you can shop in the supermarket Apolina in Almancil then it's much cheaper (about 30%) and would be a proper supermarket with fresh fish, deli, butchers etc. Plenty of nice restaurants and amazing beaches in the area we spent a lot of time down at the beach near Vale de Garrao it's between Quinta and Vale de Lobo. It also has some great beach resaurants Julias and Antonios right next to you. The restaurant highlight was an amazing fish restaurant called Casa da Lago on the lake very close the villa - it was expensive but amazing food and magnificent setting

The villa we rented was magnificent (one of our friends thought we had rented an embassy!) and was better then the pictures on the site. The team at the managment company helped us whenever we needed them and were very helpful. They installed a brand new barbeque straight away when the one in the villa broke!

From the moment we arrived to when we left we had a wonderful stay on the Algarve and we would thoroughly recommend this villa to anyone looking for family holiday where you can grab some peace and quiet and yet be ten minutes from stunning beaches and the night time buzz of the Plaza
