If you really want to get away from it all, this is the place for you. Situated at the top of a mountain in the Alp Maritime near the Italian border, is a rural and rustic stone cottage with fresh mountain water and breathtaking views. Situated between 2 small hamlets, this rustic cottage offers a great escape from the ratrace. A quiet, romantic and meditative space. The cottage works well as a base for the local ski resorts of Limone in Italy (20 min drive) and Saint-Dalmas-De-Tende (France). Monaco is approximately an hours drive away and San Remo is also easily accessable. The location is perfectly suited for walking and is situated within the Mercantour National Park. Just make sure you have all the supplies you may need as the closest shop is 8 kilometres away down a narrow winding road. Not for the fainthearted.

The cottage is ideally located to allow you to experience the quiet world of walking trails and traditional village life. It is situated within the Mercantour National Park boasting magnificent wildlife and outdoor adventure. Local tourist towns include Monte Carlo, Nice and St Remo in Italy. Local shopping can be done in Fontan (local food shop, boulangerie, Patisserie and a cafe) or Breil-Sur-Roya ( http://www.breil-sur-roya.fr/ ) and Tende ( http://www.tendemerveilles.com/en/ ). Ventemille (It) has a market day on Friday and Nice has fantastic shopping in its Old Town. The closest beaches are in Menton (sand and shale), Nice (shale), Ventemille (shale) and San Remo. Local ski resorts are Limone Piemonte (20 min by car) and Isola 2000 and there are many outdoor activities to partake in like walking, absailing, canoeing etc. The traditional culture is prevalent in the medival villages and the areas' exceptional history is evident in the magnificent churches and mountaintop villiages.

The studio is attached to the main house with no direct access. The studio has 2 double beds without partitions so is ideal for a family. There is a bathroom in the studio but no kitchen. The kitchen is located in the main house. Bedding is provided.
