The villa is modern, with a separate fully fitted kitchen with breakfast bar and 2 stools under. There is a dishwasher and all mod-cons and it opens onto the sunny terrace. The lounge is large and cool with views over to the countryside and the sea and opens out onto a large terrace. The dining area also has a view over the woods. Both bedrooms have large wardrobes and 4 drawer chest of drawers. The bathroom is fully fitted and modern with a bath with handles to help elderly and children and has shower over, and also has a bidet. There is a large fully fenced, and with high hedges, and secure private sunny garden with 4 sun loungers and sturdy table and chairs under cover. Ideally suited for small children to play in. A peaceful setting for a relaxing holiday. The quiet communal pool is seconds away, as is the childrens' play park which is set by the woods. This is our home, in summer we emigrate upstairs leaving the completely seperate ground floor for you to enjoy.
The villa is well situated for both beach and countryside and has lovely walks direct from the front door into the woods and up to the mountain. The area is beautiful, with many small medieval villages close at hand and several lovely beaches. There is a plethora of excellent restaurants in the countryside or at the seaside, at reasonable prices. This is without doubt, one of the most scenic parts of Spain and the Catalans are a friendly people. Our immediate sets of (Catalan) neighbours are resident all year round. We are the only English! This is a quiet zone close to the bustling village of Estartit and equally close to the medieval market town of Torroella de Montgri. There is a market in Torroella every Monday, Estartit's is on Thursday and the flea market in the scenic village of Pals is on Saturdays.
We are 3/4 hour away from Dalís museum in Figueres, the ancient town of Girona is same distance and Gala's castle is 20 minutes away.´The ancient ruins of Empuries and the seaside village of L'Escala are also 20 minutes from here. Although our beach is very long and open,as is the one at L'Escala,and excellent for children, there are several little coves a short drive to the south of here. There are glass bottomed boat trips out to the Medes Isleands off coast of Estartit, which are famous for diving. Barcelona is 1 1/2 hours away by train, and the ruins in Ullastret are 10 minutes from here on the way to the ceramics town of La Bisbal, where they also boast many antique shops. We have about 7 golf clubs a stone's throw from Torroella and a mini golf in Estartit. There are also two water parks, one in Playa d'Aro and one in Roses. We have evrything here for people of all ages to enjoy a quiet holiday. It is not a place for a wild night out!
Golf:
Emporda Golf is ten minutes away and has two 18 hole courses, one links, one forest. There is a pleasant bar and an excellent restaurant. Gualta 13 hole pitch and putt is also 10 minutes away and has lovely bar and restaurant. Serra de Pals club is 15 minutes from here and Pals club is 10 minutes drive from there Gerona club is 3/4 hour from here and the P.G.A. is about an hour away..
