Eating-in, Dining-out:
The interior decor has been carefully chosen to suit the property making clever use of local materials and furniture, creating a stylish look. The fully-equipped kitchen, painted in neutral tones, leads effortlessly into the spacious living area. But if you want to take it easy and would rather not cook yourself and want to be so relaxed that even a drive to a restaurant is just too much then there is a restaurant just 5 minutes walk from the house. The choice of food available caters for all tastes: from the traditional Turkish meze with fish or meat kebab alongside lots of tasty assorted local dishes to more traditional European fare. You can also enjoy the delights of a proper English breakfast or settle for coffee (Turkish or English) with toast and a freshly squeezed orange or lemon drink.
Roman remains and the biblical Karpaz:
Kyrenia is to the west of the villa but if you head east then in no time the countryside changes and becomes almost Biblical as large tracts of unspoiled land stretch as far as the eye can see.Carob and olive trees dot the landscape and flocks of goats pick their way over rocks and scrub or hide in caves which also give shelter to the herdsmen. Now you are in the Karpaz, an area of outstanding natural beauty, which is fiercely protected not just for the scenery but also for the green turtles on the vast yellow sandy beaches. On the way to the Karpaz it is worth visiting the Roman amphitheatre of Salamis where many ancient columns still stand just as they did 3,000 years ago.Traces of colourful murals, painted in those faraway times, can still seen and the amphitheatre continues to be used when music concerts or plays are staged there.
Flights and activities:
Flights are easy. You can fly direct with British Airways (or take a charter flight) into Larnaca Airport in the south. From the airport to the villa takes about an hour. Or you can use the route via Turkey landing at Ercan airport in the north. There is a 45-minute drive to the villa and the start of your never-to-be-forgotten holiday.
Once settled in your holiday home and having had a swim in the sun-warmed pool you might want to try out some of the island's other water facilities. Sea sports include scuba diving, sailing, water skiing as well as trips on fishing boats. If you prefer to be on terra firma there are tennis courts and even some go-kart racing to enjoy.
Golf:
The splendid Korineum Golf Club is a 5-minute drive along the coast road. It is a wonderfully green course with a choice of 18 or 9 holes as well as an excellent driving range. There is a bar and a restaurant and a sports shop.
