Location: The Peloponnese is one of the most interesting parts of Greece as well as being among the most beautiful. It is rich in history but equally rich in spectacular scenery and crystal clear seas. Porto Heli is an easy drive from Athens airport. It is a very popular holiday destination and well supplied with supermarkets, banks, excellent restaurants and a lively nightlife. The heavily indented coastline provides a wide choice of beaches and coves that never get too crowded. The wonderful natural bays around which the village is built are perfect for all kinds of water sports. Every summer it is the chosen destination for royalty and celebrities from all over the world. From Easter to Autumn the harbour fills with an astonishing range of vessels, from the humble sailing boat to the largest of super yachts.

Travelling to Porto Heli: By Car: Most people arrive at Athens airport and from there it is a two and a half hour drive to Porto Heli. Take the E94 motorway as far as Corinth where you will cross the wonder of the modern world, the Corinth canal, and then follow the picturesque coast road, passing close to the ancient theatre at Epidaurus. If you are driving to Porto Heli from northern Europe it is also possible to catch a ferry boat for the short crossing from Italy to Patras and from there it is a three hour drive to Porto Heli. Detailed driving instructions are provided. By Ferry: If you do not want to drive, there is a bus from the airport to the port of Piraeus where there is a regular hydrofoil service to Porto Heli, the famous 'Flying Dolphins'. Journey time is around two and half hours. For Villa Boukadoura a car is essential. Local hire is available. Please contact us for the names of local agents.

Living in Porto Heli: Shopping: There is a large supermarket on the Kranidi road as you enter Porto Heli. Roughly 3km from the villa it has never failed to supply all our food and drink needs. The village contains several other supermarkets and grocers, ranging from modern chains through to more traditional local stores. It is well serviced with pharmacies, hardware and specialist shops including mobile phone outlets. The local markets are also well worth a visit. Eating out: Porto Heli has an abundance of restaurants, examples being the ever-friendly 'Alexandras' known for its 'giros' and suckling pig, 'Ostria' where you dine in style at the water’s edge and 'Papadias', specialising in fish. A little further afield in Ermioni there are several tavernas with wonderful sea views. Just our opinion - try them out. Other needs: The local market town of Kranidi (8km) has most other services you may need. And 'Boukadoura'? - its the warm wind that comes in from the sea in afternoon.
