The Marriott Marbella Beach Resort is one of the top destination resorts in the world. Situated on the Costa del Sol it is also in the center of Andalusia, that part of old Spain which was a mainstay of the Arab World until the discovery of the New World. Within easy driving distance is the walled Roman city of Rhonda with its bull fighting arena and literally straddling a gorge which plunges a thousand feet. Swim in the Mediterranean in the morning and spend the afternoon skiing in the Sierra Nevada mountains, just half an hour from the Arab Capital of Grenada with the fabulous Alhambra palace sitting atop the city like an Acropolis. To the North the huge Arab Mosque in the ancient walled city of Cordoba literally has a Cathedral built inside. To the West is the old city of Seville with its Cathedral, palaces and medieval town quarters. Spend the evening at a seafood restaurant on the promenade of fashionable Puerto Banus.
