There are 17 ski resorts in Abruzzo and the slopes are said to be central Italy’s finest. The rich and diverse range of ski resorts are ideal for keen sportsmen, beginners and families. Snowboarding, snow rafting, tobogganing and dog-sledding can also be enjoyed here. Le Terre di Marciano is around 1 hours drive from 4 different ski slopes, with more slopes slightly further away. In the Gran Sasso national park, Campo Imperatore is famous for the abundance of snow that provides breathtaking slopes, even in late spring. A cable car ride here is enjoyable even for non-skiers, to appreciate the magnificent views. Castel del Monte is paradise for cross-country skiers.
