Elegant and comfortable apartment in the historic center of Lucca only a few steps from the city walls. It is situated on the second and final floor, the rooms of this beautiful 'period' apartment open like a flower: the noble 'Tessieri' pavements act as a union between the connecting rooms: the Kitchen, the dining room and the living room for the time shared together; three bedrooms and two bathrooms where you can relax. There is 120 sqm filled with light, and a beautiful view towards the gardens of the internal courtyard. It's spectacular to open the windows in the springtime and enjoy the pink colours of the tree in bloom.... to walk downstairs on the walls of the city shaded by the 'century old ' trees of which the colours change season after season .... will be a true pleasure! The walls of Lucca, our special and unique garden surrounding the town for 4.5km, are at 100m. Shopping facilities, museums, bars and restaurants are within 2-3min walking.

Apartment description:: The apartment consists : of an entrance hall, a dining room with a table seating up to 6 persons, a fully equipped kitchen with window, a salon, 2 double bedrooms, one twin bedroom, one bathroom with tub and shower, one bath with basin and wc.

Further details:: Lucca is an ideal location for a winter break. The climate is often dry and cold in the winter which makes it a pleasant time for sight-seeing ,and the popular sights in Florence and Pisa are far less crowded than in the summer. Lucca is lovely before Christmas and good for shopping, both in town and at the various designer outlets 40 - 60 minutes from Lucca. Viareggio, only 20 minutes by train or car from Lucca, plays host to the second largest carnival celebrations in Italy. This is usually in February/March over four weekends and well worth seeing. Visit the markets: antique and arts and crafts, the 3rd and 4th weekend of every month, the traveling market every Wednesday and Saturday “La Strada del Vino” (the “wine tasting” road): the road for food and wine tasting connoisseurship for agricultural businesses of Lucca’s hills, local wine and oil tasting.

Further activities:: Opera: Giacomo Puccini was born right here! There are many opportunities and occasions during the year to listen to the masterpieces of the famous musician. Summer Festival: A summer release of live concerts of international artists in the historic Napoleon Square. The” Lucca” September: a month of cultural events, both religious and folklore. The 13th of September is not be missed: the entire city accompanies the “Saint Volto” in an atmospheric and charming procession along the streets of the historic centre. Murabilia: a market/exhibition of mostly rare plants and flowers, held annually in the month of September on one of the most beautiful bulwark of the cities walls. Enriched by presentations, closer examinations and competitions regarding interesting themes in this sector. Comics: the 2008 edition of the Internal release of the comic, of animated films and illustrations and games marked more than 100 000 passionate fans: not to be missed! Held in October/November.

Lovely apartment in wonderful Lucca

We are so pleased we chose this lovely apartment. We had a wonderful warm welcome from Giovanna & Francesco, they even met us from the bus station and took us to the apartment. It is in a wonderful location, a good size, very clean and pretty.

We enjoyed sitting around the big dining table (6 adults) in the large open plan kitchen/diner. The beds were very comfortable, the linen was very good quality. The weather turned cold, but there were plenty of bed covers to keep us warm. Heating was extra, but the owners were fair and took meter readings and invited us to look at the meter.

Around the corner is a bread shop, there is little shop selling cheese, water, wine etc across the road.
We recommend you hire bicycles, ride around the wall. We also found a busy and very reasonably priced local restaurant, 5 minute walk, Trattoria da Leo, near Piazza Del Salvatore, plenty of atmosphere. We found Lucca to be one of the nicest places we have visited in Italy and we have been to quite a few cities. It is very clean and hospitable. We hope to return one day and would stay in this super apartment. Thank you Giovanna & Francesco.

This apartment was beautiful, had lots of room and light. It was very clean and everything was included final cleaning and all electricity for a great price! The kitchen was fully stocked with pots and pans for cooking. We received a wonderful welcome from Francesco and Giovanna at the motorway where they led us to the apartment and helped us up with our bags. They were always available for any questions and the kids enjoyed the Gelati place within walking distance. Lots of restaurants close by and you could find most anything within walking distnce. The owners were wonderful to work with and always available if we had any questions. We looked at many different apartments and feel we picked the best one. If we return to Lucca we will stay here again. Thank you once again Francesco & Giovanna we loved meeting you!

My wife and I really enjoyed staying at Puccini. It is a delightful apartment located right in the heart of Lucca and with all facilities very close by.

The owners, Giovanna and Francesco are very welcoming and attentive. They met us at the railway station, helped us to the apartment and made sure that everything was as we needed. Nothing was too much trouble and they were only a phone call away if required. It was a pleasure to have them as hosts.

The apartment is spacious and fills with light when the shutters are thrown open. It is well-maintained and extremely clean, with lots of spare linen readily available. The kitchen is nicely equipped and contains lots of pots, pans, cooking utensils, general crockery, etc - certainly more than you might normally find in a holiday apartment and just great for those who like to cook for themselves from time to time.

The rooms are generous in size and with a good standard of furniture. Some have said that the lounge where the TV is located is a little small (when compared with the other rooms), but for the two of us, it was cosy and more than adequate. A terrace would have been a great feature for the apartment, but there is a quiet garden to look over from the dining room and kitchen.

We found the location to be close to everything (bars, restaurants, shopping) yet still quiet at night. Via Fillungo, the main shopping area in Lucca, is very close - perhaps dangerously close where the wallet is concerned!

The train station is about 600m away and connects with a good network of provincial trains. We travelled to Florence and Pisa by train.

Most people in Lucca use bicycles to get around, rather than using cars throughout the city. But outside the walls, you will find the internationally known car hire companies. A tip - if you require a car, book in advance. We chose to hire one at relatively short notice and had to hunt around before tracking down one that was available.

In general, we have recommended this apartment to friends and would happily stay there again.

We were all delighted with the warm welcome that greeted us at the railway station 5- 10 mins walk from the apartment where Giovanna and Francesco met us .In fact you do not really need a car as the local transport is plentiful.
The apartment is lovely especially the bathroom and Giovanna provides you with plenty of elegant linens and towels.The small TV lounge is lovely but in reality it is too small if there were to be six people in the apartment two people would have no where to sit ! except in the kitchen/diner at the table.
We struggled to find milk ,and although bread was around the corner it would have been nice to have a lovely loaf and milk provided alongside tea biscuits, coffee.and some fruit.
This is a lovely apartment within the city walls although allow for some noise in the late evening and night,-that is natural for italian life.
Also consider if you do have a car, parking is not included in the rental, the convenient parking at 50 euros for the week is 50 metres away.I was disappointed with this fact as it could have been included in the rental price at the price charged
.Do consider this apartment you will be well looked after.
Owner's Response: The parking is not included in the rental price because not all the guests arrive by car. Only who use the parking pay the price of it.

The host Francesco was so welcoming. Her and her husband came to meet us just off the motorway to show us the way. The apartment was fabulous and beautiful. Just a few steps away from a great coffee/icecream bar, nobody does coffee and icecream like the Italians!. The apartment was very clean and everything we needed was there. We asked for a baby cot and that was supplied with bedding, everything was no trouble. Lucca itself is a lovely place to stay, great restaurants but you have to look around as some are rather expensive, the ones down the little streets are ok though the big Piazzas tend to be the pricey ones. Cycling on the city wall was great. We drove to Florence and Pisa with ease and the Cinque Terre was awesome. All in all a truly memorable holiday which I would recommend to all
