Villa Azura is an exquisitely well appointed villa with private pool set entirely in its own grounds in a tranquil residential area on the outskirts of Moraira. Facing south the villa, the lovely naya, the spacious terracing all round the pool and the inviting 9m X 5m pool enjoy all day sun and magnificent sunsets beyond the distant mountains. The villa is furnished to a very comfortable standard with all accommodation situated on one floor - with a spacious lounge and dining area, a well equipped kitchen, three bedrooms and two bathrooms. All the bedrooms have fitted wardrobes. Around the pool there are six sun loungers, two parasols and a gazebo whilst on the naya there is a large brick barbecue, a patio table and chairs. All this sun terracing is complemented by a private sun terrace on the roof. Under the villa there is a garage for secure parking for two cars. An ideal villa for relaxing in the sun and enjoying the Mediterranean lifestyle.

Moraira is ideally situated between a coast with both sandy beaches and rocky coves, and the mountains of the Marina Alta. The climate is ideal both for holidays and all-the-year-round living. The World Health Organisation has identified the northern Costa Blanca as having as near to an ideal climate as possible. Average temperatures range from the mid-eighties (26-29C) in the high season to the low sixties (15C) in the middle of winter, and even in winter the average number of rainy days is around only five per month. In more recent times this quiet and peaceful fishing port has become a busy yet pleasant resort, which can perhaps best be summarised by what it doesn't have. There are no high-rises, no large hotels, no package tours, and no large and noisy nightclubs. It is simply a small yet busy town with many shops, restaurants and bars, surrounded by whitewashed villas nestling on the tree-covered hillsides.

Moraira: Moraira is part of the municipality of Teulada, situated about four miles inland. In earlier times the centres of population were situated away from the coasts to offer some protection from marauding pirates and invaders - Romans, Moors, Berbers etc. Moraira developed as the fishing port for Teulada, and both the lookout tower (Torre-vigia) on Cap d'Or overlooking Moraira's El Portet beach, and the Castle are reminders of the past. Moraira has four beaches, each very different in character from the others. The beach of El Portet is the northernmost of these, being situated at the end of a sheltered shell-shaped bay, quiet with clear water and a gently sloping seabed, being ideal and safe for swimming. The town beach, or L'Ampolla, is a large sandy beach with a play area and restaurants. Platgetes is quieter and partly sand/partly rock; and L'Andrago is a boulder beach, ideal for snorkelling. Both to the north and south of Moraira there are many secluded bays and coves worth exploring.

Leisure Activities: This region of Spain is famous for its colourful festivals or fiestas. These take place throughout the year, but probably the most well known is the Moros Y Chistianos held in July, celebrating the reconquest by the Christians of Moslem-ruled Spain. Water sports that can be enjoyed include swimming, snorkeling, scuba-diving, jet skiing, windsurfing, and for the less energetic, sunbathing. The three main beaches are all European blue flagged, and zoned and life guarded so that various activities can be enjoyed safely. Other sports include walking, climbing, cycling and horse-riding.

Golfing Information: The nine hole Ifach course is less than 300 metres away from the villa. Other nine hole courses within the area are the Javea Golf Club (situated between Moraira and Javea) and the Altea Don Cayo. The Olazabal designed La Sella Golf Course is 20 minutes drive inland near the village of Jesus Pobre. The course has 18 holes, par 72 and is 6,029 metres. The course although flat has many trees and water obstacles and presents a very good challenge. Within 40 minutes drive north in Oliva is Oliva Nova Golf Club, designed by Seve Ballesteros. This testing course has 18 holes, is par 72 and 7,051 metres. Going south overlooking Benidorm you have the two new Real de Faula championship courses which are very highly recommended - one par 72 championship and one par 62 eighteen hole tester!
