The spacious 3-room apartment offers enough room for up to 5 persons. The apartment is located on the ground floor at the right hand side of the estate, can be accessed through an individual entrance and has its own patio. Holderbergerhof was renovated in an ecological fashion. The apartment was renovated using natural materials and furnished benign in cottage style. Wall paintings and parquet flooring give a cosy atmosphere that is topped off with the marble bathroom. Sleep relaxed in a hand-crafted wooden double-bed with a horsehair-mattress. Spend time, cook and eat in the large eat-in kitchen. We can provide you with maps for hiking, biking as well as with recommendations for restaurants and other leisure events.

The easiest way to get to Urbar is via the interstate (Autobahn) A48, taking the exit “Bendorf/Vallendar”. Holderbergerhof is about a one hour drive from Cologne, Frankfurt and the airports Cologne/Bonn and Frankfurt Hahn. From Holderbergerhof you can reach the historic fortress of Ehrenbreitstein, the second largest of its kind in Europe (after the one at Gibraltar) in a few minutes by car. A public swimming-pool, a golf court and a number or wellness-facilities are close by as well. Driving along the river Rhine from Koblenz you can visit various castles and the legendary rock of Loreley in the upper middle-Rhine-valley that has been declared world cultural heritage by Unesco. One thing not to miss is a trip up the river Mosel to visit one of Germany’s finest winegrowing areas. Take a stroll through the romantic vintage villages enjoy regional dishes along with samples of some of the best wines Germany has to offer.

Holderbergerhof: Surrounded by forests and meadows the idyllic 16th century estate Holderbergerhof is located at the heart of a landscape conservation area. The motto of its owners is:”Living in nature – living natural.” So enjoy nature and let it inspire you. The romantic court offers plenty of motives for painting or photography. A studio for painting- yoga- or other courses can be booked along with the apartment. The location of the estate is ideal as a departure point for hiking- or mountain biking-tours. The recently opened hiking path from Wiesbaden to Bonn (Rheinsteigwanderweg) is close by. You can enjoy the relaxing calm of the Holderbergerhof-valley and yet be only 7km away from the city centre of Koblenz, where you can visit historical sites like the “Deutsche Eck” or stroll through the old town of Koblenz at the two rivers Rhine and Mosel. Everything you need for daily life is available at the town of Urbar (2,5km from Holderbergerhof).

Golf: Less than 5 minutes from your vacation apartment you find one of Germany’s oldest and most beautiful golf courses. Guests are always welcome at “Mittelrheinischer Golfclub Bad Ems”.

Amazing holiday for a family of four

We stayed in Hans and Hildeburg's cottage in July 2009 and had a wonderful time. The cottage itself is very pretty and well equipped with even a waffle maker!

The owners really tried to make our holiday the best it could be for us - helping me to light the barbeque, helping us to plan day trips and giving us a jar of home made honey for our journey on.

Our two girls had a lot of fun with all the farm animals, our youngest especially enjoyed feeding the rabbits (although I still not sure she has worked out why a farm keeps rabbits!). The area is beautiful with walks right from the front door of outstanding beauty. The Rhine and Moselle rivers mean that much of the area around is fascinating and very pretty with great castles to explore.

Would thoroughly reccomend this location to anyone.

We visited in November just before the American Thanksgiving holiday. What a lovely apartment. Wonderful owners! We had a relaxing stay. We only wished we would have stayed longer. We plan to come back some summer to enjoy all the area has to offer.

Hallo Frau Zimmermann und Herr Strobach, vom ersten Augenblick an fühlten wir uns bei Ihnen wohl - ob das die frischen Eier vom Hof, das selbstgebackene Brot, die handgemachte Seife sowie die anheimelnde Atmosphäre auf dem Hof und in der Wohnung waren oder Ihre nette und natürliche Art – immer hat uns ein willkommenes Gefühl begleitet. Durch Ihre ganz persönliche und sehr kreative Gestaltung gewinnt die Wohnung an Individualität. Neben unseren Erkundungen der wunderbaren Gegend an Rhein und Mosel wurde unser Aufenthalt durch einen von Ihnen organisierten Yogakurs bei Frau Traus abgerundet. Einen besonderen Dank möchte ich für den spontan organisierten Kurs zur Seifenherstellung sagen. So konnten wir unsere handgemachte Seife voller Stolz mit nach Hause nehmen. Wir werden Ihr Feriendomizil ganz sicher weiterempfehlen und wünschen Ihnen eine schöne und entspannte Zeit. Herzliche Grüße von der Ostsee, Frau Gerath aus Karow.

Rustig en mooi gelegen vakantiewoning

Heel ruim en rustig gelegen vakantiewoning in een deel van de verbouwde schuur. Uitstekend geschikt voor wandelaars en dagtrips naar Rhein en Mosel gebied. Prijs/kwaliteit verhouding is goed. Wij hebben er een leuke week gehad.

Man kommt durch die Haustür und fühlt sich wohl. Wir haben unsere Urlaubswoche sehr genossen und es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Danke nochmal für alles, besonders die gute Ausstattung mit leckerem Wein und die netten Gespräche.
