Oct 2009 Half Term

Review Submitted: November 15, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
A great base from which to explore West Cornwall.

The property was 1st class, (even better than the photos on the website) , this is no ordinary holiday home, it's more like home from home. Loads of space for all the family (2 adults and 3 teenagers), a great kitchen/dinner, with all the equipment you need to make you feel right at home. We had some great family evening meals (incl candles) around the large dinning table.

Alision was very friendly and helpful. Moreover, the owners make you feel at home, from the off. Plus there's lots of nice homely touches. Quality beding and towels, 2 great power showers, candles, nice wine glasses, plenty of books & mags, nice paintings and quality ceramics, etc, etc. ...free off road parking.

We visited the property in Oct 09, as a result, the weather was a bit mixed weather, so we weren't able to make full use of the property's great outdoor offering. (Garden / large BBQ and Patio seating areas, etc). It must be a great place to stay in Summer....sipping the odd glass of wine as the sun goes down.........

In summary, one of the best holiday homes we have visited, and one we will recommend to our friends and family.

We tend not to visit a place/property more than once, as we like to try new places, however, this home from home, is worth another visit.

Many thanks
The Dalys (Derbyshire)

A beautiful cottage with character and charm

Review Submitted: November 8, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
We stayed here from 30/10/09 - 06/11/09 and cannot praise it enough! For us it had the wow factor! It's in a superb location, quiet and relaxing. The cottage has everything you need. The whole place is welcoming and has a very homely atmosphere. The view from each upstairs window at the front is stunning!Lives up to the name. The chance to order home cooked food is a bonus. We arrived on my birthday to delicious smoked mackeral pate/fish cakes for starters. Main course was an amazing fish pie with perfectly cooked veg and a chocolate torte with clotted cream for pud and even a candle that made it just perfect! There is a beautiful garden with lots of space and seating areas with many shrubs and plants that make it worthwhile strolling through even in winter plus great views over Mounts Bay and the sea! There was nothing we disliked about this cottage. We fell in love with it from the start! Can't wait to return!

A dream home

My self, husband, kids and parents stayed in this beautiful house for 4 days in October. Not long enough. The house was exactly as described and better. The rooms were cosy and the living area divine.
The place was spotless. Amanda called to check everything was fine and is a genuine warm lovely person. She was a great help in recommending places for the kids. There are bedrooms downstairs and one just off the living area, I liked this as with young kids they were in close proximity. Fab place would definitely book again if holidaying in the area.

Swithch off, chill out and recharge!!!

A gorgeous property - full of character, whilst spacious, comfortable and superbly furnished with all the latest gadgets to make it a home from home. The attention to detail ensured we wanted for nothing and the house felt warm and welcoming. The location is perfect for exploring the huge array of things to do and see, and even our teenage daughter was very happy and contented with the whole experience. Alison's home cooking was an absolute joy, and a MUST TRY for anyone staying at the cottage. Mousehole is delightful and within easy walking distance as is the Ship Inn on the harbour front, and the village pub in Paul - both with lovely Cornish fayre. We cannot fault our time at the house, although, if I had one minor negative comment, that would be to suggest a better ventilation system for the utility room downstairs, as the tumble dryer formed condensation which made the ground floor smell of damp when we first entered, thought it did not distract from the overall experience, and we will certainly be back. The Isles of Scilly are but a few hours away on the ferry, and well worth the trip, whilst the numerous beaches all around the peninsula are a must for surfing and cliff walking or coast steering. St Ives is not far, and the train journey there is great fun. The open air theatre at nearby Carnac Beach is amazing, and to top it all, the cornish ice cream and the pasties are irresistable.Thank you. Aled, Carolyn, Doug, Bel and Meg xx
