Silvi Marina is very Italian & popular with Italian holidaymakers although open all year round for the locals. For families, Silvi has playgrounds along the beach with cafes, fantastic pizzas, ice cream and remains mainly unspoilt. No car needed as Silvi Marina is only 25 minutes from Pescara airport and the main town of Silvi, which has shops and restaurants, is within a 10 minute stroll.
If you want to explore have hired a car and want to ski, the mountains are an hour's drive. The town of Atri is a 20 minute drive - Atri is older than Rome and where Hadrian was born. The tiny city of Silvi Alta has amazing views and is only a 5 minute drive. There are two Aqua parks - one at Guilianova and one at Vasto. We are a 2.5 hour car drive from Rome or take the bus 15 Euros each way and do Rome in a day! Pescara is a city with a port and ferries go to the Tremiti Islands.
