Casa La Torre is a holiday house in the little ancient village of Macerino di Acquasparta, situated in the hills at 700 meters above sea level, not far from Spoleto, Assisi, Todi (100km northern of Rome). It consists of two unit: Casa La Torre and the adjacent dependence Casa La Torre - Belvedere for total sleeps up to 12 people. From Casa La torre it is possible to reach within a short time all the most historical and artistic sites of Umbria: Spoleto (15 km), renowned through out the world for its Festival, an internationally important musical and cultural event, which runs from the second half of June to the second half of July, Assisi (45 km) the heart of Christian spirituality, with the Basilica of San Francesco, Perugia (60 km), the capital of Umbria, an ancient and majestic town and Orvieto (50 km), with the Cathedral, a masterpiece of Italian Gothic architecture. The archaeological Roman site of Carsulae (third century A.C.) is only a quarter of an hour drive away.

Casa La Torre is a holiday home inside an old tower, on various levels, built with pink natural stones. Located in the centre of the ancient village of Macerino, at 700 meters above sea level, it is a perfect place for a period of relaxation and tranquillity in close contact with nature. After a recent and careful restoration with respect to the original architecture, all the rooms of the house have valuable features, with stone walls in evidence, original wooden beamed ceilings, banisters in wrought iron and medieval windows. The house is very comfortable and pleasant, the living room with an old fireplace, the large kitchen with modern appliances, the tavern with a large table, two cosy bedrooms, two bathrooms and a terrace-solarium ( 25 sq. meters ) with a breath taking view of the vast forest surrounding Macerino, where it is possible to have breakfast or dinner with candle lights and a starry skyline.

Macerino is a small and ancient village, 12 kilometres from Acquasparta and 15 from Spoleto which conserves the medieval charm with its narrow alleys. We can find historical information about Macerino dating to 1093 A.C. . The castle was built with the particular form of extended rectangle and in every angle there was a solid tower. This fort was built for residential purposes. It is immersed in a green vast forest where you can walk, with Macerino as part of Monti Martani Trekking route. There are two neighbourhood Restaurants where they serve authentic Umbrian food, for example truffles, pasta, meat of wild boar, cured pork meats. Fly to Rome, airport of Fiumicino (Leonardo da Vinci ) or Ciampino. Here you can rent a car or take the train ( Ancona line ) and get off in Terni where you can take a taxi or rent a car. Macerino is just one hour and 30 mins drive from Rome and 30 mins from Terni.

Moreover it is possible to visit some localities of incomparable beauty, for example Marmore falls (30 mins) or the plain of Castellucio di Norcia (1 hour and 30 mins ).
