This semi-detached cottage sleeps five in 2 double rooms and 1 single (with room for a cot). There is a large sitting room with an open fire, modern kitchen with all the modern appliances and modern bathroom. The views are outstanding. We are a working arable farm and the cottages enjoy extensive views over our farm land and the South Downs beyond. Goodwood is situated within a 15 minute drive (Festival of Speed, Revival, Glorious Goodwood horse racing), Fontwell racecourse 10 minutes, Arundel 8 minutes, Petworth 5 minutes, Chichester 20 minutes, Guildford 40 minutes. There is so much to do and see in the local area you will run out of time! Should you fancy a day in London the train station at Pulborough (2 minutes drive) is on a direct line to London Victoria train station. The cottage has only recently been renovated (2009). There are many walks directly from the cottage. Well behaved dogs are welcome!

We had a fabulous 7 weeks at this property and whilst we didnt partake in many tourist pastimes due to other commitments, we did enjoy the garden and quiet location. Julia and Mark couldnt have been more helpful and all amenities are handy by car. The property was better than it is described and very comfortable to live in - we felt totally at home. We would recommend to anyone wanting a break in the countryside. We enjoyed lunch in the garden at The Grove Inn but enjoyed and sampled most of the dining in the area.

Comfortable Cottage

The cottage is comfortable, the sitting room is cosy with the fireplace and the kitchen is well equiped with a washingmachine and dishwasher.The garden is a big field, nice to play for children! The surrounding is beautiful, besides famous Arundel the remains of Cowdray is also worth a visit. From the cottage there are nice walks possible, also with small children.

peaceful and comfort

Our family has 5 persons: two parents, three children (14, 12 and 10 years). The boys slept together in the double bed (which was no problem).

The property is clean and comfortable. Was just redecorated, we think. Not very big inside, but a very large garden. Appliances and some furniture were new and very complete. We cooked most of our stay ourselves. Views are spectacular. You have neighbours, but the walls are so thick, we didn't hear them and suppose they didn't hear us either. It's very quiet, at night you hear owls, at day time the feasants. Very peaceful.

There's a book with leaflets of what to do and general information and suggestions. Didn't need to contact the owner further, but they live in walking distance. Big supermarket at 10 min. in Pullborough, found everything we needed.

We loved walking the public footpaths (we're dutch, we didn't know them): they wander through farmersland, blooming forests, small settlements. We did need our navigation system: you could get lost without it. Every morning we started with a walk and ended with a visit. Arundel castle is expensive but worth every penny. We loved also the Weald and Downland open air museum, Royal Pavillion (Brighton) and Bignor Roman villa. Found after a long search Cisbury Ring near Findon, good walking, wonderful views.

The cottage is a great place to stay if you plan visits in the surrounding area (plenty to see, watch the opening hours! some are closed on monday, others on thursday, friday or wednesday!) or if you want to relax and have a walk in the fields and forests.
And after a long day return to the cottage and start relaxing. Stress is far away, nature close by.

A good time had by all

We have just stayed at the Cottage for a week and it was delightful. We have 2 boys aged 5&2 and they had great fun.
There is a super garden and private deck area to the rear of the property. Inside the house is clean with modern decor and applicances, very comfortable and enough space for a family. Get the open fire going on evening!

Julia was a star and was available to help us with the few teething problems we had and was available with surgestions of places to visit and things to do.

The Cottage makes an excelllent base to explore the surrounding area with so much to see and do in under a hours travelling distance. We spent days out at Brighton, Portsmouth in the habour seeing the battle ships old & new. Listers Farm park was a super day out (not cheap) a whole days entertainment, with loads to do the kids loved it and it wore them out brilliant. Arundel is definatley worth a visit set on the river Arun, a big castle to explore, lots of little shops to look in, it's worth trying to get there on the farmers market days as there is loads of free tasters to be had and a good public kids play area. Chicester is good and the shopping area is fully pedestrianised with great shops and resturants. Bosham is nice for a look around. If the weather is not to kind try out the Flying Forteress (soft play) to keep the kids entertained.There is also a super play park in Fittleworth its self which we took the boys to after dinnner a couple of times to wear them out.
The nearest supermarket, bank and takeaways are at Pulborough which is 5 mins in the car and we can recommend the Indian Takeaway (Yum Yum).
