Peyia.:
Peyia is a very popular and charming village situated on the gently sloping hillside overlooking Coral Bay. Peyia is a very traditional village. you'll notice how friendly the locals are when you stroll around visiting the tavernas and bars. There is a great selection of shops; bakers, butchers, fishmongers, DVD shop, chemist, laundrette including banks, local doctors and small supermarkets.
The location of Peyia is ideal for families and couples who don't want to be at the centre of a noisy resort such as Coral Bay but want to be close enough to visit there or Paphos for the day or evening.
Coral Bay.:
Coral Bay has a beautiful Blue Flag beach, it is very sheltered between two headlands, a perfect beach for families and couples. (Near the shoreline you can see deposits of what look like salmon-pink sand but it is actually fine coral- hence the name)
The bay has all the amenities that you would expect including two cafes, beach beds, umbrellas water sports.
You'll find a large selection of shops and restaurants like Italian, Chinese, Cypriot and Indian cuisine.
Walking and Climbing in the Akamas:
Peyia is on the edge of the Akamas peninsular a beautiful preserved area of outstanding natural beauty and habitat, protected for the enjoyment of walkers, climbers and nature lovers.
Around 530 plant varieties, a third of the island's total, as well as 168 bird species and many types of butterfly populate the Akamas. You can occasionally see dolphins and rare monk seals.
Ski:
Skiing. Cyprus offers both sunshine and snow. You can hire skis, poles and boots at Sun Valley, the upper slopes of the Troodos mountains offer good skiing in the winter and great walking, climbing and hiking. There is enough rough country to satisfy the most ambitious hikers. In the summer as well as walking you can rent mountain bikes for treks along forest trails.
Golf:
There are three golf courses in the area within a 20 minute drive of the apartment, the most famous of which is Aphrodite Hills and Secret Valley, both are open to the general public and people on holiday.
