San Gimignano holiday apartment

A holiday with a bit of difference.
The owner -Laura - never showed up once during our 7 days and we had to deal with a local woman who spoke no English. (a German couple had the same tale for TWO weeks!)
I was a little concerned beforehand, as I never received replies to my emails.

For a "self catering" holiday it certainly lacked a few basics - in the kitchen only 2 pans both large - and a small frying pan. Only dinner knives to use - for cutting everything, inc. bread, meat etc.- no kettle. No coffee making facilities - other than a large pan. No chopping boards either.
No window cover in bathrooms - people put up towels for privacy.
This is certainly NOT a place to visit if you don't like dogs -
to get to this apartment - and most of the others - you have to use a path that runs alongside a property that has three guard dogs, including a Doberman & a German Shepherd, that race to the fence every time anyone walks past it. The owners have a sign on their gate saying "Security Dogs" - my one fear was that these dogs might get out, either when we walked to the apartment or to the swimmimg pool.
The TV was given to us halfway through the week - after another family had left!

The garden is not what you might think! It runs alongside the guard dog fencing - and their constant barking.
And if you do decide to make a booking, then you better be a very confident driver - for at the end of the long drive a hill like no other hill awaits you and your car's 1st gear!!

I could go on.... but suffice to say, if this place does interest you, think carefully before you choose it. Have a good look around and return to this site if all other properties are unavailable - and you desperately need a holiday!
