AGEAN COAST: The Aegean coast is home to some of the most impressive archaeological sites in the world, it's rich cultural legacy dates back to Greek, Roman and Ottoman civilisations. The Apollo Temple can be found in Didim and can be reached by a local dolmus and takes about 5 minutes. The Aegean is also know for it's coastal scenes and long stretches of sandy beaches, the holiday resort of Altinkum has been recommended by the World Health Council because of it's lovely climate, low rate humidity and lovely sand.

LOCAL AREAS: Alltinkum means 'Golden Sands'. The beaches are ideal for children and non swimmers as the waters are clear and shallow. Boat trips can be taken and there are water sports, diving courses, banana boat rides, pedalos and horse safari trips. Didim runs a local market every Saturday the local dolmus will take you there, they run every 5-10 minutes and is well worth a visit. The main shopping centre is in Dolphin Square, and the shops are open till late. Here you will pick up your usual souvenirs, find good value leather goods, and if jewellery is what your are looking for the quality of the gold is excellent and much cheaper than at home. The Aqua Park is just outside Altinkum, and 5 minutes away from the apartment in Mavisehir, the Apollo Temple is also 5 minutes away in the opposite direction.

DAY TRIPS: There are numerous day trips that can be taken to: The Roman City of Ephesus the second largest ancient site in the world, it's well preserved amphitheatre and library helps you drink in the atmosphere of ancient times. Pamukkale is unique in the world, a natural attraction with its cascading water forming crystallized, white and frozen waterfalls. Bodrum Castle was built in the 15th century and was dedicated to St Peter, inside the museum is one of the most important of its kind in the world. The flight time is approximately 4 hours. Competitive flights can be obtained from Aegean Flights, Goldtrail, Thomas Cook, First Choice and British Airways flying into Bodrum or Izmir airports. Bodrum Airport 80km.
