The property is set in 10,000m2 of land which incorporates the main 3 bedroomed house, with large open planned living area and terraces; a beautifully restored guesthouse with 2 bedrooms and living area; a large heated swimming pool; a tennis court; olive grove; chapel; lawns. The property is accessed through electric gates and an imposing driveway through the land. Both the main house and the guesthouse are filled with beautiful antiques and give an authentic Greek feel to your visit. There are 2 double bedrooms and a 2 bunk (sleeping 4) bedroom in the main house. The guesthouse has a double and twin rooms. There is internet access and satellite TV. There are wonderful views to the famous island of Spinalonga and the mountains nearby are stunning to look at. The garden spacious being partly laid to lawn and a pathed walkway through the olive grove. There are various sculptures of interest. The space is especially suitable for children to play in. The sea is only 5 minutes away!

The scenic seaside village of Plaka overlooks the famous island of Spinalonga and is only a 5 minute drive from the town of Elounda, which is a further 15 minutes away from Agios Nikolaos and another 40 minutes from the capital's airport of Heraklion. The area around Plaka is especially beautiful with the unspoilt Mirabello peninsula overlooking the east and north Mediterranean. Quiet Cretan villages scatter the north coast and the mountains and seaside are wonderful for nature lovers. You can find most holiday requirements in the neighbouring town of Elounda. For historical and architectural sites you do not have to travel far. Knossos, Lato, Malia, Zakros, to name just a few. For the family there are plenty sandy beaches to find within a 15 minute drive and the large pebbled beach at Plaka, only 5 minutes walk away is excellent for snorkelling. You will not be disappointed by the number of places to eat and drink nearby with authentic Cretan cuisine and fresh fish.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Booking Conditions -
    Written confirmation with the applicable deposit (20% of the accommodation cost) is required to secure the booking. Confirmation of your booking together with an invoice/receipt showing the balance payable will be sent to you. Full payment is due 8 weeks prior to your arrival. Cheques or Bankers Drafts or bank transfer are to be payable to Michael Wilson. If for any reason the balance is not received by the due date, we reserve the right to cancel the booking. For bookings made less than 8 weeks prior to your arrival, the total amount is due with the booking form.

    Cancellation -
    1) By you, the Client: 8 weeks or before your arrival, the deposit will be non-refundable. Less than 8 weeks prior to your arrival, the total cost of the accommodation will be non-refundable if we, the owners, are unable to recover the income by re letting.
  • 2) By us, the Owners: Our liability is limited to making the accommodation available for the dates booked. In the event of the accommodation not being available, a full refund will be made of monies paid, plus interest at the appropriate rate for advance payments.

    Force Majeure -
    We are unable to accept responsibility for any aspect of your holiday arrangements beyond our control such as threats of war, civil commotion, riots, industrial disputes, earthquakes or natural disasters, government action or travel delays caused by any reason Subletting.

    The accommodation is provided for the sole use of the Clients named on the booking form. Subletting or assignment of the property is not permitted.

    Insurance -
    The Client is strongly advised to take out comprehensive travel and medical insurance for all members of the party.

    Rental Period The rental period commences at 1400hrs on the first day and ends at 1000hrs on the last day.
  • Health & Safety Whilst we make every effort to ensure that the property is as safe as possible, you must accept that the local conditions vary enormously from the UK. We cannot accept any responsibility for your health & safety while staying at the property. We will provide guidelines at the property to assist you in minimizing any risks to your safety.

    Security Crete is still a relatively safe location and does not have a high incidence of crime. However, we cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage to property or persons during the course of your booking.

    Damage caused to the property and/or its contents The Client must accept full responsibility for damage and breakages to the property and goods. All such damages and breakages will be charged for at replacement value and must be paid for prior to departure. A £1000 refundable deposit is requested at the time of final payment of the accommodation.

An enjoyable family vacation

We chose this property because it was large enough for our family (7 adults, 5 children and 2 babies), its location, proximity to the sea, large swimming pool, tennis court and only 1.5 hour drive from to the airport. The description on the website was very accurate and the representative of the owner provided excellent service and attended to all our needs. While there were plenty of items and facilities for our use that made our stay confortable, a larger BBQ, additional and cleaner blankets, and an electric dryer would have made our week-long stay even more comfortable. I would definitely recommend this property to a friend or relative. Its maintenace, location close to the sea, the pleasant tavernas in the small village of Plaka and its proximity (5 km) to the town of Elunda were all a plus.
