Monte do Casal nestles in the hills close to the village of Sao Bras de Alportel, with a well stocked supermarket and fish and vegetable market every Saturday. This is the secret heart of the Algarve where the hills are covered with wild almond, fig, carob and pomegranate trees. Explore the local villages with their whitewashed houses, simple charms and traditional crafts. The Church in Sao Bras goes back to the 15th Century. The area is renowned for it's almond confectionary, especially during the Easter period and there is a 'Hill Festival' during July and August with food, crafts, music, dance and art. There is a bar (Restaurant Diaz) only 1 km away and a restaurant (Monte de Eira) only 6 kms away where the local gastronomy can be sampled. The pretty town of Loule is only 8 kms away where the streets in the historic centre have retained much of their original charm. For golfers, there are six courses within 20 kms.

The House: Monte do Casal is a luxurious 19th Century secluded Villa that offers contemporary comfort whilst retaining an aura of it's historical past. The comfortable drawing room, with antique furniture and sumptuous sofas, has French Windows onto the shaded seating area. There is a well equipped kitchen and daily maid service is included. Meals can either be enjoyed in the dining room, which has seating for 10 and lovely wooden Portuguese furniture, or on the bouganvillea shaded patio. All of the spacious bedrooms have superb en-suite facilities. The separate Pool House offers seclusion to those guests looking for a little more privacy. There are French windows from both Pool House bedrooms onto a private courtyard. The Master Bedroom in the Pool House also has a Jacuzzi.

The Pool and Gardens: The villa is set in over 3 acres of mature, landscaped gardens with fragrant orchards bursting with plum, lime, lemon and orange trees. Both the gardens and the surrounding hills are a delight at any time of the year. The safe gated swimming pool is 10m x 5m with built in steps to the shallow end. There are sun loungers and umbrellas to offer shade.

Location: Monte do Casal nestles in the hills close to the village of Sao de Bras de Alportel in the Central Algarve. The pretty town of Loule is only ten minutes away and the beach at Vale do Lobo is only 20kms away. This is the base from which to enjoy the very best that Portugal has to offer.
