Photos and Description of this Vanxains holiday cottage 2 Bedroom to sleep 6, in rolling countryside

This is the home of the owner, and as such is comfortable and tastefully furnished. There is a large family kitchen, which will seat up to eight people and the kitchen is well equipped with utensils and dishwasher, microwave, washing machine. There is an attractive outdoor dining area with table and chairs ideal for evening BBQ's. The large lounge has comfortable sofa's, French TV, DVD player and Video player. There are 2 large bedrooms on the first floor- Bedroom 1 contains 1 double bed, wardrobe, dressing table and cot. Bedroom 2 contains 1 double bed. 2/3 single beds a wardrobe and small chest of drawers also access to the bathroom which is fitted with WC, washbasin, bath and shower. There is a large garden with shrubs, trees, lawn and some areas, the secluded swimming pool measures 10 x 5 metres and is a uniform depth of 1.4 metres. There is a terrace surrounding and a gazebo and shrubs for privacy.

This house of character is set in the midst of rolling countryside, near the small village of Vanxains, 5 Kms from the market town of Riberac, in the Perigord Vert region of the Dordogne. The surrounding area is often transformed in summer when the sunflowers are at their best. Some parts are heavily wooded and there are lovely lake or river beaches where bathing is safe, and pedalos or canoes and kayaks can be hired. Riberac offers many facilities including supermarkets, banks, tennis courts, restuarants and bars, and on a Friday morning the main square is a hive of activity when there is a busy and colorful market, where fresh local produce can be bought. There are many historic sites to visit just a short drive away, Aubeterre with its Monolithic church, Brantome and Bourdeilles known as the Venice of the Dordogne, St Emilion famous the world over for its wines, and the Pre historic caves and sites in the River Valleys in the South of the Dordogne.
