Dos Palmas is situated on rising ground in the Adsubia district. It is situated amongst other individually designed houses. The plot is 1600sq m and fully enclosed. The gardens are landscaped and usually have a colourful display including hibiscus, bougainvillea, oleander and palms whilst the lower plot contains fruit trees. The pool, which is south facing, is 8 x 4m and has deep and shallow ends. The main terrace is also south facing with shade and grapes provided by a climbing vine. Natural shade is also provided by other trees around the villa. The villa is on one level with beamed ceilings.The naya (verandah)is double glazed and provides an excellent breakfast area overlooking the pool. One of the chief advantages of Dos Palmas is its proximity to the sandy beach area. Many villas can be several miles from here with long drives round circuitous roads. When our children were teenagers, they appreciated the freedom to go off on their own.

Javea is situated on Spain's Costa Blanca mid-way between Valencia and Alicante. It is divided into three parts - the old mediaeval hilltop town with its narrow streets and historic buildings, the active port and marina and the modern development around the large sandy blue flag beach. In all areas there are numerous supermarkets, banks, restaurants, bars and cafes. You will not find high rise apartment blocks, although like the rest of Spain, apartment and villa development have proliferated in recent years. You can have a very relaxing holiday pottering between beach, restaurants and the villa but nearby towns of Moraira, Denia, Gata, Jalon all have something to offer. Alicante has its castle and Valencia is superb with its modern architectural wonders and its science museum and aquarium. There is also Benidorm with Aqualandia and Terra Mitica theme park, Guadalest in the mountains, and Polop with its springs, There are two golf courses in Javea itself and others not too far away.
