On the edge of the romantic village of Gaucin, with views over mountainous countryside, the Straits of Gibraltar and the Rif Mountains of Morocco , this beautifully furnished house is suitable for groups of friends or a large family. An azure pool glistens in the sunlight set , within a terraced garden full of citrus, avocado and olive trees. The house is full of character and charm. Set over three floors there is a large comfortable sitting room, three double and one single bedrooms, a stunning yoga studio, and a large terrace to eat 'al fresco' in the dappled light of a vine clad pergola. The comfortable double bedrooms all have marbled en-suite bathrooms, while the small single bedroom has the use of a beautifully designed Moroccan style bathroom. Casa Pinos character, convenience and comfort cannot fail to restore your inner calm.

Gaucin is an ancient mountain village, dramatically perched on the crest of the Sierra del Hacho, 630 meters above sea level. Gaucins steep winding streets, hidden alley-ways and whitewashed houses reflect its Moorish heritage. Situated on the migratory route between Europe and Africa, rare birds can be sighted passing on their journey to and from Africa, in the spring and autumn. The countryside is a delight to botanists, walkers and painters. There are Neolithic Caves to explore near Cortes de la Frontera, a Roman sulphur bath below Manilva, and riverside walks to be had along the River Genal where you can find crystal clear pools for bathing in or picnicking by. Gaucin is ideally located for day visits to the historic town of Ronda (37kms) the beautiful beaches of Tarifa (88kms) on the Costa de la Luz , or Marbella (67kms) and Estepona (39kms)on the Costa del Sol. Futher afield there are the wondrous historical sights of Jerez (145kms) and Seville (245 kms).

  • Bathroom 1 is small, but stylish, ensuite bathroom leading off bedroom 1. It has a travertine marble floor and walls. The modern sink, toilet and shower enclosure all have stylish fixtures and fittings. There is a chrome towel rail, that is heated in winter. Bathroom 2 is the ensuite of Bedroom 2 and is similar to the above. Bathroom 3 is ensuite and tiled in travertine marble. It has a bath with shower, enclosed by a glass door, toilet and sink and modern fixtures and fittings. Bathroom 4 is decorated with blue Moroccan tiles and a blue tadelak sink unit. The shower enclosure has a double headed shower unit. It acts as a guest WC as well as the bathroom for bedroom 4.

  • Bedroom 1 has French windows opposite the king size bed affording wonderful views of the Moorish Castle perched above the village. There is a large cupboard with hanging rail and shelves. The terracotta tiled floors are strewn with rugs. A Moroccan arch leads into an ensuite bathroom Another set of patio doors lead out onto a balcony overlooking a courtyard garden. Bedroom 2 has a romantic metal four poster bed complete with muslin drapes. There are French windows with views to the castle, an ensuite bathroom, Moroccan rugs, a large built-in cupboard with hanging rail and shelf space. Bedroom 3 has magnificent views to the South, It has a seperate dressing rooms with ample shelves an ensuite bathroom containing a bath/shower, Moroccan rugs and a rustic fireplace. Bedroom 4 has a single bed and cupboard. It has use of a seperate Moroccan style bathroom located opposite within a cosy nook of the house just of the sitting room.

Stayed at the house for a long weekend with friends to discuss books and enjoyed every single minute of it. It is the ideal retreat, a stunning house decorated with exquisite taste. A little jewel, really and much recommended for small bookgroups getaway.

The house and the village surpassed our expectations. Tastefully decorated, lush garden and beautiful views from every room. The whole family loved it!
