Gara Mill House is in a rural setting with its own large garden with small woodland and stream. Additional totally enclosed walled garden makes it a haven for families of all ages. Local beaches are within three miles and the popular holiday towns of Dartmouth, Kingsbridge and Totnes are within 10 miles. The sailing Centre of Salcombe is half an hour away and other attractions include Dartmoor for great walking, Woodlands Leisure Park is three miles away for year round holiday entertainment. The South Hams is famous for sailing and water sports, in addition Gara Mill is surrounded by wildlife - hawks, buzzards and owls are resident in our woodland. The Mill (completely renovated in 2009) comprises three double bedrooms (2 en suite), two twin rooms (one which sleeps four children or two adults - it is a very large twin with pull out beds), a bunk bed room with additional cot. Family bath room, Playroom full of toys !!! Kitchen, Dining room, Living Room, Laundry,+loo.

There is much to do without leaving the Mill - the river has Otters and some lovely walks. The garden is large, with its own stream and modest woodland walk. Totnes and Dartmouth are great for local shopping - boat and steam train trips provide a great day out only 20 minutes away. The National trust has a number of properties close by, one of which was the home of Agatha Christie on the banks of the River Dart at lovely Dittisham. Dartington, Sorley Tunnel, Pennywell Farm and Woodlands Leisure provide great days out for the family. Slapton Sands nature Reserve with its wildlife and stunning beach is 3 miles away. In addition Blackpool Sands provides a brilliant beach location with great organic cafe for coffee and evening meals in the Summer. The South Hams is famous for its fantastic food and we are surrounded by villages with great pubs and restaurants serving Devon beef and local seafood. Alternatively take a fishing trip and BBQ at the Mill in the evening !

Notes: We have recently renovated our Mill, it has been done with thought and to a high standard. However we have endeavoured to create a relaxed and spacious home for family holidays for groups of all ages. The location is best for people wanting to get away from it all but still wanting to enjoy the amenities of the South Hams without having to travel too far. There is a large playroom for rainy days and the downstairs living room has been put together as the 'adults' room. The garden contains an knee deep stream which runs in front of the property. In Order that young children can enjoy outside too we have created a walled area outside the front of the house for them to play in safely. The South facing living room and kitchen look out onto the terrace and stream, whilst the dining room looks up across the garden .
