Situated between the wildlife rich Marais and the coast, the Bessin area of Calvados has much to offer the visitor. The medieval town of Bayeux with its restaurants shops, art and cultural events, including festivals and of course the famous tapestry is only 15min away.
Isigny sur Mer is 10min. Omaha beach Golf Club and Port-en-Bessin are 15min with a 27 hole international golf course as well as a good choice of seafood resturants. Resturants in Bayeux offer more traditional menues. The fine sandy beaches,dunes and cliffs make excellent coastal walks and the fishing village of Grandcamp- Maisy which provides a quaint lunchtime seafront venu is a scenic drive of under 10mins. To the south there is the forest of Cerisy and the Marais(we are situated in the Marais Regional Park) with excellent walks and wildlife.
Of course the Normandy landing sites, related museums and associated locations are on the doorstep. Pointe du Hoc is only 4 miles away and Omaha beach at Vierville sur mer.
