Casa Buturru is situated in a wonderfully private country setting with breath-taking sea views from all of the rooms and terrace. This fabulously positioned property is approached by its own long driveway and sits in a commanding and slightly elevated position surrounded by wonderfully kept grounds of 3/4 acre benefiting from its very own shaded picnic and BBQ area. Both the house and garden are very well maintained, and is the perfect setting for a couple wanting a quiet and peaceful holiday yet the beach and other amenities are within close proximity and the nearest pizza restaurant just 2 minutes by car. The accommodation offered is the upper floor of the house only (the lower floor is used for owners storage and not for let) and comprises a very good sized open plan living space a-wash with natural light with a fitted kitchen, a double bedroom and a well fitted bathroom, the bedroom with direct access to the balcony which leads to a very spacious terrace with country and sea views.

The hamlet of Buturru can be found near the tip of the beautiful North West coast approximately half way between Alghero and Stintino. The nearest village is Pozzo san Nicola which is just 5-10 minutes drive and the town of Stintino is a further 10 minutes drive. Buturru is spoilt for choice as far as beaches are concerned from long and sandy to rugged and rocky coves, not forgetting the famous La pelosa beach at the far northern tip of the island. Stintino and Alghero offer all varieties of other activities and are just 20 /30 minutes drive. There are many places of interest to visit in the area such as Capo Caccia and boat and submarine excursions are plentiful.

Stunning quiet sea view

We came from London for our honeymoon and this place was idyllic. We were late arriving but Karen rearranged for us to receive our keys when we got there: opening the gate you drive 200m on a private road secluded by trees to the cottage, which looks over the sea and is 1/2 mile from a small beach. The balcony view (as above) was everything we'd hoped. Stintino and Alghero are close but otherwise this part of Sardinia is pretty un-touristy. Would recommend snorkelling boat trips, the lovely local vineyard, walking on the hills, local agriturismi (farmhouse restaurants), the nature reserve island just to the north, getting married, etc. etc. The only sound to be heard was the gentle and altogether pleasant tinkle of the sheep grazing in the field just below the house.

Really nice location, very quiet, well kitted out, no mosquitoes (at least not in late July). Hot weather. Marco, who showed us around and collected the keys, doesn't speak much English but is friendly and we got on fine with sign language.

This was exactly what we were looking for.

Beautiful!

My boyfriend and I wanted a quiet area with stunning views and we definitely got it here. The sea views were amazing, the house was exceptionally clean and relaxing, and the beach was only about 15-20 mins walk and nearest shop was 5-10 min drive. Stintino was only 20 min drive and Alghero was about 50 min drive.

You definitely need a car if you stay here which we did and we made great use of it visiting loads of places (using the sat nav!)

Mr Paulino the owner was really welcoming and gave us some homemade wine and a big tray of plums grown there. I would definitely come back again but I would advise to learn a bit of italian first!

Simply amazing!!!!

My husband and I stayed at Casa Buturru in June 2009 for one week. The location is perfect. It is peaceful and tranquil and the views are breathtaking. The beach is a 10-15 min walk and is so pretty (white sands and turqoise water). You do need a car to get around though.

The property was clean and well maintained and has everything that you will need for your stay. The owner Mr Paulino went out of his way to make our stay special. He even brought us home made wine and cakes!

I can't recommend this property enough and will definitely be making a return visit

A gem in rural Sardinia

Beautiful, exceptionally clean, with the most outstanding, uninterrupted views for miles. A perfect retreat for a couple to get away from it all. Easy walking to nearby (30mins) beaches and coves. The owners obviously love the property as this is reflected in the quality of the accommodation. We had a wonderful, restful week and I would recommend this property to any of my family and friends.
