Port Grimaud:
In Port Grimaud all of the shops, restaurants, bars and cafes are no more than a few minutes' walk away as is the fine sandy private beach. It has colourful houses and apartments built on peaceful islands, linked by bridges over the waterways and surrounded by gardens. St. Tropez and Ste Maxime can be reached by a ferry service around the Gulf. There is a lively twice weekly local market and a waterbus service around Port Grimaud in high season. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from the main entrance in Port Grimaud. All water sports golf tennis and horse riding is available nearby. It is an excellent centre from which to explore the unspoiled inland areas of Provence, the Massif des Maures, the vineyards and hilltop villages, or the spectacular Gorges of Verdon.
Grimaud , St Tropez & Ste Maxime:
Grimaud a few km inland from Port Grimaud is the hilltop village of Grimaud has maintained its medieval character with its cobblestone and flowered streets leading to the Romanesque church to the ruins of the feudal castle.
St Tropez is a must to visit during you stay, again only a few kilometres away. People watching is a favourite sport here in the summer, Visitors like to sit at the outdoor cafes hoping either to be seen or to see someone else. St Tropez market days on Tuesday and Saturday morning.
Sainte Maxime, in the other direction, in the Gulf of Saint Tropez, is Sainte Maxime facing south and is sheltered from any wind by the Maures Mountains. The wonderful weather and the beautiful location have attracted artists' poets and writers for many years. You should enter the old town by walking through the lively pedestrian streets, and then continue on towards the superb gardens on the 'Promenade'. The walk ends up on the pier overlooking the gulf. The best beaches are there.
