Prices from Euro 1,500 p/w. Set in an extensive estate. 'Casa Berti' is a villa of rare charm and peacefulness with its own farmhouse, outbuildings, and artist’s studio. a. The villa itself sleeps ten and the farmhouse, located near the main house, sleeps a further five. Families are welcome, and children well provided for. The views are exceptional. The villa itself has been restored with integrity - lofty interiors, large and numerous windows and double doors, and an arcaded entrance.

Outside: A private 21m pool is 30m from the villa. The terrace and pergola provide graceful dining areas outside. A gas-fired BBQ is also provided. There is also an artist's studio with a table tennis table. Excellent walking and mountain biking on the doorstep.

Coast/Beach/Golf/Ski: Coast The Tuscan Riviera (Forte dei Marmi) is 1 hour's drive away. There is good river swimming nearby, superb hiking in the garfagnana 1 hour drive, horse riding, kayaking, and many walks in the woods around the villa. Golf There are several decent golf courses in the vicinity. Skiing Good skiing is one hour away at Abetone.

Special interest holidays: The property is ideally set up for cookery and painting courses, although these are not offered by the owner. Travel Pisa airport 45 mins drive. Florence 1 hour 15 mins. Nearest shops 10 mins drive. Hire car recommended. Airport transfers by arrangement. Local advice (in English) available.

Ski: Excellent and extensive skiing at Abetone 60 mins drive.

Golf: There are half a dozen good golf courses within 60 mins drive of the property.

Blissful Family Reunion

We stayed as part of a multi-generational family holiday from the US, UK and Italy in October 2008. The main house is stunningly elegant and the two adjoining cottages ideal for larger groups but offering space and tranquility.

The accommodation is decorated with complete comfort in mind and feels like a true home rather than a "holiday home" and furnished with quality and convenience with all the mod-cons you need as a large family.

Our children loved the gardens and great hikes in the surrounding countryside. All the great Tuscan attractions are within an easy drive or rail trip.

The beach is about an hour and a half so not impossible for a day trip too.

The housekeeper is exceptional and there are English speaking staff on hand to help with local information and handy tips to enhance the visit.

We're going back later this year fingers crossed!
