What an Amazing Place!:
Rio Sinagua will really open your eyes to the beauty of Arizona - it's not all sand and desert - though it is all giant saguaros (cactus so special they are protected). Truly the photos of the saguaros against those quintessential sunsets really do look like that. It really is greener and more full of abundant vegetation and wildlife than you might imagine. The land is undulating with gullies and washes that give it a lot of character and makes it impossible for houses to be built close to each other - Rio Sinagua nearest neighbour is a half mile away. Arguably this is the pick of the sites in Grantham Ranch, with 26 acres alongside the river. The house itself is 60 feet above the river, with panoramic views in all directions from every room. Down a track below the house is our own shady pasture that leads directly to the river, where you can walk or ride for miles up the river bed (it is dry most of the time). We are surrounded by public land on two sides & the river to the rear.
Spectacular Location!:
Rio Sinagua is an oasis in the Arizona desert and a fantastic base for exploring the beautiful scenery and historic places of Arizona. It's only an hour and a half's drive from Phoenix Sky Harbor international airport, and Wickenburg is on the road to Las Vegas, 50 miles north of Phoenix. The gates to Grantham Ranch are just over two miles from the centre of Wickenburg just off highway 93. From there it is just over two miles on good 'country roads' to Rio Sinagua. When you arrive the views are breathtaking. It is amazing to be surrounded by so much space & seclusion yet very close to a town that provides all your everyday needs; and to be near Phoenix but well out of the built-up area. Despite the 'away from it all' location, Rio Sinagua has mains electricity, satellite TV & broadband internet & its own well that provides delicious drinking water and high pressure showers. Popular trips are to Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, Sedona, Jerome and dozens of ancient & truly amazing Indian ruins.
Warm welcome, help on hand :
Our house manager, Nancy, will be on hand to welcome you with your key and help you settle in and find everything. Through her we can arrange, if you wish, an airport pick-up/drop-off (you can hire a car in Wickenburg) and a starter pack of groceries. She can also provide a range of other services. All payable direct to her. We arrange a housekeeping turn-round before your arrival and after departure; the fee for this is shown in the rates section and is payable locally. For stays of two weeks or more, we arrange additional weekly housekeeping, which is chargeable and payable direct to Nancy. Should you have any questions or problems during your stay, Nancy will either be able to help you directly or get in touch with someone who can.
We keep a range of leaflets & brochures at the house that will help you plan your stay. All we ask is that you bring others back with you for our future guests. There are two 18-hole local golf courses, Wickenburg Country Club and Los Caballeros
