Situated in the heart of Mosta is this very well finished and maintained town house. The house is fully equipped with air conditioning and heating and has 3 bedrooms sleeping up to a maximum of 7 people. The house is baby friendly and the furniture includes a cot & high chair. There is a very large kitchen breakfast room again fully equipped and a large living room and dining room. The property has 1 main bathroom and also has a shower room. There is a large terrace which has views of the world famous mosta dome church which can be used for BBQs and for outside dining. The property is very comfortable with lots of space and is very bright and ideal for a family vacation home. The property is ideal for a couple or for a larger group. Access to and from the property is made easy by the bus system and a bus terminus within 3 minutes walk from the house. Shops and restaurants are close.

Mosta is bang in the centre of the island so access to all areas is very easy. There are beaches to the north which will take 10 minutes by car and nightlife in St Julian's which is only 10 to 15 mins by car. Mosta is a thriving village with plenty of shops supermarkets and restaurants.

A house with a WOW factor!

My partner and I have just spent a fantastic 4 days in this house and couldn't have been happier. The photos simply do not do this place justice. It is a beautifully restored old typical Maltese house that is bursting with character. You walk into an impressive covered courtyard that is full of natural light. The large kitchen is well equipped and we enjoyed cooking with tasty Maltese ingredients which we bought from the a local farmer and fisherman in the village square. The owner Charles was very helpful and assured us upon arrival that the oven had just been repaired and insited that we shouldn't hesitate to call him should we require anything.

My partner's favorite bit of the house was the 2 large terraces. The top terrace has a fantastic view of the dome and the other one is a perfect outdoor dining area. I was surprised to see the last review stating that this place was noisy- I actually found it very quiet and peacefull. Very few cars pass from this street and they are hardly noticeable- even when sitting outside. The 3 bedrooms are all very spacious and have a tasteful decor through out. The house was spotlessly clean upon arrival and remained this way throughout the 4 days. I imagine it would have needed a quick sweep if we had stayed for more than a week.

We will be returning to this house with our friends and their baby later in the year. The house can easily accomodate a large family or 3 couples and seems very suitable for babies and children (once again, I have to disagree with the previous review). I am guessing that the centepede problem has been dealt with as well- since we didn't find anything (not even mosquitoes which is surprising).

We couldn't have been happier with our stay. Mosta is a great town and is less then 10 minutes drive to some great beaches. We even noticed a hop-on-hop off sight seeing bus passing near the church- as well as regular buses, so a car is probably not necessary. On the whole, a very special house in a very special island.

our recent holiday at this house

firstly, this house is perfectly located for those with a particular interest in Mosta, but is also well suited for others interested in the central and northern areas of Malta in particular. It is very spacious and has 2 outside terraces for additional room, but no garden area. I stayed here with my wife and 2 young children, and although it is advertised as child friendly I would have to question this on a number of fronts; the staircase cannot be 'blocked' and there are no handrails; the oven (when it worked, see later) is low level and the facia gets incredibly hot when used; there are no outdoor play areas, and the front door opens onto a very busy 'side road' with no pavement; and there is also an incredible amount of through traffic day and night, almost all of them beeping their car/van/bike/lorry horn morning, noon and night as they pass the house! Within the house, we found a number of centipede/worm type insects, one of which my 4 year old son picked up and presented to me as a souvenir. The walls are exposed and generate a lot of dust, most of which finds its way onto the floor, so whenever my 1 year old daughter went crawling she would have incredibly dirty hands and feet within minutes, which actually meant we spent alot of time either holding her or putting her in the high chair, which was not ideal. The oven (which is gas fired) failed to work for most of the holiday, and we actually gave up trying to use it towards the end of the first week, which meant for the second week we bought mostly take aways. Attempts by the owner to fix the problem were unsuccessful, but he did try; in addition we had a number of power outages, and the kettle and radio stopped working in week 2 as well. The nearest place to park a car is in the next street, which isn't a problem most of the time but can be difficult in the evening and weekends as the locals also use the same street to park if they are going into town. If you are a family, especially if you have young children, I would not recommend this to you, it is more suited to seasoned travellers or those with older children who don't mind 'going native' for a short time. Even then, given my comments above, I would strongly advise against staying here until you have full assurance that the problems we experienced are resolved - although there is nothing that can be done about the location and the constant noise associated with it (possibly not a problem if you live in an urban area already?).
