Kolpos Thea comprises two beautiful villas, discreet from each other, a 10m x 5m pool with very spacious sun terrace, barbecue and a bar which is open several nights a week. There is also a boules area. The villas are set in an acre of olive grove with fig trees, fruit trees and ornamental plants. There is a wonderful view from both villas and the pool area looking across the Messinian Gulf to the Taygetos mountains beyond. The villas are perfectly sited for many wonderful beaches in the area- mainly sandy and quiet. There are waterfalls and lakes within half an hour's drive and many ancient sites in the area. The Messinian County is one of the most beautiful areas of Greece, the countryside hilly, green and wooded, with many olive, orange and lemon groves . Nearby there are several pretty Greek fishing villages, where you can sit beside the water and enjoy watching the boats come and go while eating a delicious Greek meal with local wine.

A two bedroom villa with a large split-level living room with corner fire place. There is a sitting and dining area on one level, a step up leads to the large well equipped kitchen. The whole living area has wonderful views down across the olive groves to the sea and mountains beyond, French windows lead to the veranda. A further step up through an arch leads to two bedrooms, one with en-suite bathroom. There is also a separate shower room. The villa has a large veranda on 3 sides of the building, there is dining furniture and umbrella for 6 and soft cane furniture with coffee table for 4. The veranda shares the same wonderful view as the living room. There is a variable speed pedestal fan in the living room and each bedroom has a quiet multi speed remote controlled ceiling fan.

There are many sandy beaches in the area, some have beach bars and sun loungers and most are very quiet, during the summer the rare loggerhead turtles nest on many local beaches. There are many ancient sites to visit in the area, Ancient Messini is not far and is a wonderful Ancient Roman and Greek site. Olympia is only a couple of hours away, as is Mistras. There are also fantastic castles to visit at Methoni, Koroni and Pylos. Five minutes drive will take you to Petalidi, a charming unspoilt fishing village where you will find shops, bars, tavernas, chemists, doctors, an internet cafe, a fish market and general market. Koroni is 20 minutes drive and is beautifully situated on a natural harbour facing the evening sun. A very pretty old town that scrambles up the hill to the old castle and nunnery where the views of Koroni and Zaga beach on the other side are breathtaking. If you prefer the city life then 40 minutes will take you to Kalamata with its port, beach, marina and shops.

  • We prefer bookings of multiples of one week in July and August, but please contact us if you would like a shorter or longer period and we will try to be as flexible as we can. We require a booking deposit of 20% to be paid by bank transfer within 2 days of booking. The balance will be invoiced one month in advance of your holiday and you can pay at that time by bank transfer or on arrival at Kolpos Thea in Euros as cash or Eurocheque.
    If your holiday spans two seasons we will use the nightly rate to calculate the cost of your holiday. For example, if 10 nights fall in August and 4 in September then we will add €1600 (10 x €160) to €520 (4 x 130) to give a total of €2120.

  • The first bedroom has a very large wardrobe, a double bed, bedside tables and a chair. It also has an en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom has two single beds which can join together to give an extra large double bed, a very large wardrobe, bedside tables, chair and table. There is a large sofa-bed in the living room which can divide into two separate single beds or form one double bed. We provide all bed linen, bath and face towels and pool towels. The beds are changed and the villa cleaned once a week.

Notes: There is a welcome pack provided free on your arrival, with provisions for breakfast the following morning. There are basic food stuffs provided- our own organic extra-virgin olive oil from our trees plus salt, pepper and some herbs (there are also fresh herbs in the garden). There is also an information pack in your villa which gives details of some of the local places of interest and how to get to them. The owners are always on hand to answer any queries or help you with anything as they live in a basement apartment below Villa Elya with its own private entrance.

Welcome meal plus welcome pack provided.: Included in the price of your holiday is a 3 course Greek style meal with wine, beer and soft drinks served in the barbecue area by the pool on the evening of your arrival. This has proved very popular with our guests as it allows you simply to arrive, move in and then come down to the pool and be wined and dined without having to think about shopping or getting ready to go out after a day's travelling. It will also give you an opportunity to ask us any questions about the locality and Greek customs, local events etc. We also provide a welcome pack with all that you might need for breakfast the following morning, this, and the meal is very popular with our guests as it means that you can arrive and relax with no need to go out until the following day.

Sailing Days Available: Another extremely popular event has proved to be our day trips out on our 43ft. yacht Rendezvous. Everybody from the age of 8 upwards is welcome from complete beginners to experienced sailors and you are free to get involved in the sailing or simply to relax and watch the scenery going past, or occasionally dolphins, turtles and flying fish! The day includes snacks and lunch on board, with drinks. We usually sail in the morning and then put the anchor down in a bay for a swim off the back of the boat before lunch. After lunch we sail again, there is usually a bit more of a breeze in the afternoon. We return to the marina in the late afternoon or early evening and usually retire to the marina bar to chat about the day's events. We also have two-centre holidays available, 3 days on board the yacht and 4 days in Villa Elya- these holidays are available for 4 to 6 people.
