La Fenière is one of four apartments, within an 18c Provencal bastide, La Ferme de La Platane, 1km from the village of Ansouis and its romantic chateau. La Fenière is on 2 levels and features thick stone walls, exposed beams and terracotta floors. Independent entrance, and terrace looking out over vines, it has superb views of the Luberon, sunset and the chateau. Sheltered courtyard and beautiful walled garden with heated swimming pool (14mx5m) and teak sun beds. 4 hectares of grounds, including our own vines and a boules pitch. Kitchen, bathroom with large walk in shower and cream stone tiles, super king sized bed, Egyptian cotton sheets & towels, welcome provisions and local information provided. The perfect place to unwind - walking, cycling, exploring the villages of the Luberon and wine tasting. Aix and Avignon with their summer festivals as well as Cassis are within easy reach. Ferme de la Platane is just under a kilometre (or a 15 minute walk through the vines) from Ansouis, a beautiful Provencal village with a superb medieval château and church with narrow cobbled streets. There is a boulangerie, cafe, newsagent and one of the best restaurants in the area. Lourmarin, one of the liveliest villages in the Luberon, is 5 minutes away, with numerous restaurants, bars and the well known Friday market. Be as lazy or active as you like: wonderful walks and cycling, as well as golf, horse riding & tennis, then enjoy gastronomic Michelin-starred menus or a simple plat du jour in the many local resturants.Choose from a dazzling variety of the freshest produce in the markets to prepare back in your apartment. Opera, theatre and music at the festivals of Aix en Provence (25mins), Avignon (1 hr), the Calanques of Cassis (50 mins) and the Cote d’Azur (2 hrs) are all within easy reach.
