Pigazzano is a charming village on the hills, a perfect base for trekking and mountain biking. There's a typical restaurant in the main square, only a couple of minutes walk from the property, while the ancient church with terrace overlooking the valley offers a gorgeous sight. The main town is Piacenza, one of the most renowned Italian cities for the arts, with many historical palaces often with splendid gardens. Bobbio, located higher on the hills, is also a small jewel. Main sights include the Abbey, founded by St. Columbanus in 614, and Ponte Vecchio, commonly known as Hunchback Bridge for its particular form and also Devil’s Bridge: the famous legend tells that it was built by the Devil in one night after he made a pact with St. Columbanus who promised him the soul of the first passerby; but when the bridge was finished, the Irish Saint sent a dog. Other excursions by car include Parma, Milano, Liguria coast.
