This beautiful old Scottish Country Estate with a brand new house is less than two hours seenic drive North of Glasgow and sits in thousands of acres of glorious landscape including a fishing loch with islands and an 11th centuary castle. Ben Cruachan, one of the Scottish Munros (3700ft), provides a backdrop often reflected in Loch Tromlee creating a breathtaking view as you drive up the estate road to the house. Close by Taynuilt and Oban offer comprehensive cafe and shopping including all major supermarkets. All three properties were re built in 2003 to be as ECO-FRIENDLY as possible with a wind turbine, reed beds and solar fans. The main house has under floor heating throughout and all water comes from its own spring on the hill, supplying the houses with very soft fresh water. The Estate is ideal for large (family) groups to enjoy and get active in the Scottish countryside , fishing ,boating shooting canoeing,walking skiing horse riding scots dancing and photography.

The Ballimore Cottage was built at the same time as the main house, in 2003. It is fitted out to high specification and has its own heating system and additional wood stove. The Cottage consists of one double bedroom with built in wardrobe, fully fitted bathroom (shower over bath) and open plan kitchen/ living area with wood stove and double sofa bed. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes a washer/dryer and in the living area you can find a Satellite TV and DVD player. This self-catering cottage is perfect for couples or small families of all ages to enjoy the peaceful tranquillity within this beautiful remote place. Fishing can be undertaken in the Estate’s Loch Tromlee or at Loch Awe, just a short drive away. The pub in Klichrenan is 4 Miles down the road and for day trips we recommend nearby Oban, Inveraray and the Isle of Mull.

Due to its closeness to Oban, the 'Gateway to the Isles' and 'Seafood Capital of Scotland', there is plenty to do at Ballimore. On the Estate you can cycle, walk, fish and explore the ruins of a small MacCorquodale castle which belonged to the family who inhabited the estate in the 11th century. There are also plenty of other ventures to undertake... Day trips to the Islands: Mull, Coll, Tiree, Barra, South Uist, Colonsay, Lismore and Islay, boat trips on Loch Etive, fishing at Loch Awe, wildlife photography with 'Loch Visions', cycling and mountain biking, diving, sea kayaking, hillwalking, ceilidh dancing or visits to Bonawe iron furnace in Taynuilt, Oban Distillery, Inverary Jail or the Cruachan power station. As it is a very historical area there are many castles to explore and beautiful or gardens to discover. The nearest pub is only 3 miles from the house in Kilchrenan and those seeking restaurants, shops and nightlife will find a nice variety in Oban.
