A light, airy studio (with electric heating for cooler autumn/spring breaks), swimming pool, tennis court, formal gardens, orchard and secure parking. With it's own private garden (30 sq m) and set in a renovated bouchonarie on the edge of the hilltop village of La Garde Freinet a short drive from the beautiful beaches around St Tropez, the studio is the perfect base from which to explore this beautiful area. The apartment has recently been redecorated and fitted with a luxury shower room. There is a well equipped kitchenette and ample storage. French windows lead from the studio onto the private garden area which is bordered by hedges and partly shaded by plane trees - a perfect spot for al fresco dining and an attractive outdoor living space during the long sunny days of the Provençal summer. Though only a short walk from the centre of the village, offering a good choice of shops and restaurants, the apartment, located on the garden side of the building, offers a tranquil setting.

Close to the beautiful beaches of the Golfe de St Tropez & set in the breathtaking scenery of the Massif des Maures La Garde Freinet is well placed for inland trips to ancient towns such as Aix en Provence, Avignon and Arles. A day spent in the dramatic Gorges du Verdon or boating on the nearby startling blue Lac St Croix is a must. Nearer home while away a morning in the pretty villages of Ramatuelle or Gassin, with its stunning coastal views. Countless local châteaux offer combined wine tastings & art exhibitions & during July and August many stage open air jazz concerts. Take a boat trip from Ste Maxime to St Tropez, each have colourful weekly markets where great bargains can be found. Why not spend a day in Nice with its captivating old town, or a little further along the coast visit the famous principality of Monaco. On Sunday mornings enjoy browsing the weekly 'puce' market held outside picturesque Grimaud with its ruined castle.

  • The new shower room was fitted last year and provides a large glass fronted shower enclosure, fully tiled walls and floor and recessed down lighting. The vanity unit allows ample storage and the layout of the room gives the feeling of light and space.

  • The sofa bed offers a comfortable night's sleep and folds into a sofa during the day. In addition there is a single futon. A small fireplace adds character to the room and the French windows leading to the private garden ensure a light and airy feel. The apartment is centrally heated - ideal for early or late season breaks. The private garden of 38 square metres is ideal for summer outdoor living. There is a TV and video player.

We stayed for 3 nights during the last week of June with our 3 year old son. The Studio was simply furnished but well equipped with everything that we needed and is in a great location. It's only short stroll into the village in the morning to the bakery or in the evening for dinner.
La Garde Frenet is only a short drive down to the coast for the beaches and there are plenty of villages and beautiful countryside to explore all around.
The shared pool, tennis court and large communal grounds with barbeque area were very well maintained and make the studio excellent value for money.
The small private outdoor dining area is great for sitting out in the evening and we would definitely stay here again.

Perfect Family Holiday

A holiday at Les Residences really provides a perfect blend of the life and glamour of the nearby Cote D'Azur (St Tropez is only a 15min drive away) and the peace and tranquility of rural Provence. We have stayed at the appartments before and they are located just on the edge of La Garde Freinet (a couple mins walk to the centre) in an idyllic setting of green gardens and a very welcoming swimming pool. The private gated carpark is a huge advantage in the summer (you're provided with your own key at the start of your holiday) with the town's frequently oveloaded car parking availability, it was always a bonus to return from a daytrip to wherever and leave the car in a secure and always clear car park spot just yards from your door. And with this studio it literally was 20 yards from your back garden...with a young child this convenience together with the totally walled gardens allowed us to let William (our 2 year old) roam pretty much free for many an early evening. The studio itself represents excellent value for money and is superb for a couple or couple with 1 young child such as ourselves. Being set in just one albeit spacious room and with fold-out sleeping arrangements I wouldn't recommend to larger groups or families with older children. The patio doors lead out onto your own private back garden with barbecue, tables, chairs & loungers which is perfect for al-fresco breakfasts or evening meals, and also doubles up quite nicely as a secluded reading spot or play area for little ones. A word too for the bathroom which is probably of most credit to the owner's work on the property; an impressive shower and modern decor which compared favourably to the other property at Les Residences that we have stayed at. Overall we had a fantastic fortnight from the end of July to early August enjoying 30c+ days at the beaches of St Tropez; daytrips to Cannes, Nice & MonteCarlo (all only 1 hour away); activity days at waterparks, Zoos, Marineland & local wildlife sanctuaries; and always with the added bonus of returning to La Garde Freinet at the end of it all.
