Photos and Description of this Padstow holiday cottage 3 beds sleeps 5/6 in lovely rural setting, 15 mins to beaches and attractions

Converted in 2000 from an old Cornish stone farm building, The Old Dairy stands in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty just 200 yards from the picturesque Camel Estuary at Old Town Cove. Just over a mile by foot (or bike) from the delightful harbour town of Padstow and fifteen minutes by car from a selection of fantastic beaches. Set in a rural location the house benefits from being in a development of six similar homes all converted from the original Lower Halwyn Farm outbuildings. There is a cosy living room with Freeview/DVD and a kitchen/diner (with gas hob, oven, microwave, washer/dryer and dishwasher) on the ground floor and 3 light and airy bedrooms ,1 king, 2 twins (with rural views) and a shower room upstairs. Outside there ia a patio area to the rear of the property with table and chairs and BBQ plus a separate level lawned garden with outstanding and uninterrupted views over the estuary and the Camel Trail below. Allocated parking space. GCH, utilities and linen hire incl.

The Old Dairy is in a quiet and peaceful location 200 yards from the Camel Trail, the beautiful disused railway line along the Camel River to Padstow and the Atlantic Ocean beyond. The estuary is the home to an abundance of wildlife and there are small beaches and coves to explore along its length. Padstow itself is a scenic fishing port made popular recently by Rick Stein and his investment in the town. There are a range of great places to eat/drink and shop in the town and over the water in Rock. Within 15 minutes drive are a whole host of beaches, cliff walking routes and local attractions. The Eden project is 30 minutes by car, the Lost Gardens of Heligan 45 minutes, Creally's Cornwall Adventure Park is only 10 minutes away. There are lots of activities in Newquay all about 20 minutes away, including Watergate Bay (and Fifteen Cornwall!) and Fistral Beach. This part of the North Cornwall coast has to be heaven to all water/beach/surf/cycling/walking/nature loving enthusiasts.

Fab Cottage in a great location

LRCOA GLOS
Review Submitted: June 15, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
A very welcoming, and homely cottage which is set in the most beautiful location. It is exceptionally well equipped, with almost everything you could wish for. The cottage is very clean and well laid out, making it a perfect venue for families. The views from the garden are stunning, where many hours could be spent overlooking the camel estuary, watching the tide come and go. The camel trail - perfect for walkers, buggy pushers and of course cyclists, is a short walk from the cottage, which then (after a brisk 20 min walk) takes you straight in the beautiful town of Padstow. We would recommend this cottage to many.
Owner's Response: A really pleasing review. Since this family holidayed at The Old Dairy we have had the bathroom completely redone so its EVEN better now than it was then!

Perfect Location

Review Submitted: April 12, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
A very comfortable and well equipped cottage in a stunning location. The beach at the end of the road was a perfect place for skimming stones and starting a walk towards Padstow at low tide. Camel Trail great for cycling and walking. Well located for some of Cornwall's most stunning scenery.
Owner's Response: We are really pleased that guests appreciate just how superb a location the cottage is in. Why drive to Padstow when you can walk or cycle along the ever changing Camel Estuary?

Excellent view of the Camel Estuary from garden

Review Submitted: March 5, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2008
The accommodation is spotless and very well appointed, including a lovely kitchen. The situation is very quiet indeed (although this depends on who's in the adjoining properties). But the glory of the property for us is the garden, which gives a marvellous view of the River Camel, with its Camel Trail (the old railway line), along which you can waly or cycle into Padstow. Given the right weather, you can sit in the garden for hours watching the ever-changing view.

Wonderful week in Cornwall

NB1970 Tewkesbury
Review Submitted: March 5, 2009 Date of Stay: November 2008
This wonderful retreat surpassed our expectations. The Old Dairy is a warm, homely cottage with everything you could possibly need for an enjoyable stay either in the height of the summer season or out of season. Located overlooking the picturesque camel estuary with access straight onto the camel trail path, you're really can get away from the hustle and bustle of a busy life. If you want to get out and explore, you've got miles of fantastic camel trail to explore, that can take you right into Padstow or you can use the cottage as a base to go further afield. If the weather's keeping you indoors, the cottage has TV, DVD and freeview to keep the kids occupied. This cottage was very well equipped with all the kitchen accessories you'd expect, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer, microwave and more. You're 15 only minutes away from Tesco's. We really loved the atmosphere of this Cornish retreat and would definately stay again.
Owner's Response: We are delighted Neil and his party enjoyed their holiday at The Old Dairy, even in November! The proximity to the Camel Trail and the views from the garden are excellent features of our house and they seem to please our guests aswell!
