Cappoquin is situated at the tip of the Blackwater Estuary, which is renowned for its salmon and trout fishing and is close to 3 mountain ranges in West Waterford, all of which offer magnificent woodland walks in areas of unspoiled natural beauty. The town has all the basic amenities together with pubs and restaurants. 5 miles away lies Lismore, a lively heritage town boasting the imposing Lismore Castle with it's glorious Jacobean gardens and a 17th century hilltop cathedral. Everything is on offer here from arts and crafts to live pub music and a choice of recommended eateries as well as a renowned golf course and equestrian centre. Down on the spectacular coastline between Youghall, Dungarven and the Gold Coast there are beaches, bays and cliff tops in abundance to explore.

Cappoquin 1.5 miles. A modern, detached property set in 1.4 acres of lawned garden bordered by open fields and situated on a country road just 5 miles from the historical town of Lismore in West Waterford. We rented this property in the Springtime, and we had a great 2 weeks in the sunshine and would have no hesitation in recommending it. The house is very well equipped and as the family use it for their own family also, there is everything there you could possibly wish for. The house is in a very rural location so is very quiet which suited our family. The views are very impressive from every window, horses, mountains, green fields etc. and there are lots of great walks. Cappoquin is the nearest town with good local shops and pubs. We took a day trips to Waterford and Cork which were a lovely days out and the Waterford Crystal factory is well worth a visit. We will be back again because there are lots of places we wanted to see but hadn't enough time in our two weeks!!
