Milford-on-Sea: Milford-on-Sea is a quiet coastal village with spectacular views over the Sea to the Isle of Wight. Ferries across to the Island can be taken from Lymington and Keyhaven as can boat trips and fishing trips. A car is useful to enjoy the area but is not essential as there are buses to Lymington and from there to other New Forest villages and Southampton, and in the other direction to Bournemouth. It is the ideal place to explore the New Forest National Park and the stunning coastal areas. The area is a haven for wildlife lovers who can see horses, deer and the rare birds who frequent the salt marshes and coastal areas. Pine View Cottage is a delightful self-catering holiday home for both families, and couples alike. It has TV/DVD with Freeview giving access to many TV channels as well as tourist information, games and books for your holiday enjoyment. We provide information on many local walks for you to enjoy alone or with your family pet/s. Walkers and runners will be spoilt.

Parking and cycling: The cottage is in a quiet no-through road in Milford-on-Sea with ample private parking for residents. There is access to the back garden where you can store bikes for safe keeping. Bikes are available to hire from many outlets and there are numerous cycle tracks throughout the New Forest National Park.

Cyclists can take full advantage of Milford on Sea's coastal paths and cycle all the way to Lymington and beyond enjoying the spectacle coastal views and nature reserve at Keyhaven.

Swimming and beaches: The quiet beaches at Milford - on- Sea are safe for swimming and great for people of all ages. The views over to Island are sublime. The pristine beaches are pebbles and sand. Dogs are allowed all year round but are restricted to certain parts in the summer. More lively beaches are found in Bournemouth which boasts seven miles of golden sand, lifeguards and entertainment. There are plenty of beach car parks in Milford-on-Sea but why not walk from Pine View Cottage and save energy. There are toilets and cafes by the beach. Beach huts are available to rent at Milford-on-Sea. Please enquire for prices. There are indoor swimming pools at the nearby towns of Lymington and New Milton. A short drive away in Bournemouth are many swimming pools with slides, waterparks, and fun activities for children and adults alike e.g. Splashdown, Littledown Centre. An ideal day out is the award winning Bournemouth Oceanian where you can see hundreds of awesome sea creatures from around the world

Christchurch Ski and Leisure Centre is one of the widest artificial ski slopes in the UK. It offers skiing, snowboarding, ski-bobbing and ringoing. Lessons are available for beginners and the more advanced skier. The ski store stocks a wide range of equipment and clothing and the alpine bar and restaurant serves fine wines, real ale and even fondues. Children can enjoy the Alpine Adventure Park with its overhead cable ride, alpine fort, slides, trampolines and toddlers’ play area.

Barton on Sea Golf Club offers 27 holes of excellent clifftop golf with stunning views. It is only 5minutes drive from Pine View Cottage - 3 miles away. Their three loops of nine holes start and finish close to the clubhouse. Many forms of golfing challenge await the player from the shot over the water to the island green on Needles 9, to links style bump and run shots to the greens close to the coastline. Sea breezes also add to an enjoyable test of golf. Couple this with breathtaking sea views, and a pleasurable experience is guaranteed.

The New Forest Golf Club in Lyndhurst offers 18 holes in an area of outstanding natural beauty and some of the most scenic holes in Hampshire.

Walhampton is a 9-hole course in a tranquil setting, bordered by woodland and overlooking the Solent at the southern edge of the New Forest in nearby Lymington. It is a relaxing environment to play golf in and the atmosphere in the clubhouse is friendly and informal. It offers pay and play.
