The centre of St Paul de Vence is a 10 minute walk away up a fairly steep hill. There are many restaurants, cafes and art galleries in the area.
St Paul is one of the most beautiful villages in Provence. It's one of the most perfectly-preserved medieval villages anywhere, with cobblestoned streets and old façades, all enclosed by ancient ramparts. The beauty of the surrounding area, quality of life and exceptional light has inspired numerous famous artists, painters, writers and poets, many of whom took up residence in the village.
You can find major works from some of these famous artists at the Fondation Maeght, just outside the village, which has a large collection of paintings, sculptures, drawings and other graphic works from the 20th century
The Malvan Valley, where the villa is situated, despite being so easy to access, is a verdant oasis of tranquillity, perfect for leisurely walks.
