A 200 year old fully modernised stone built house, situated in over 12 acres of woodland/pasture with a private fishing lake. The accomodation has been renovated to a high standard, a fitted kitchen/diner with all appliances, gas central heating, large lounge with a beautiful granite fireplace with wood burning stove and satellite T.V. There is a spacious conservatory with lovely views of the woods and wildlife. The bedrooms have ample storage with en-suite or adjacent bath/shower rooms. There is vast outside parking for your vehicles. Outside seating and barbecue are provided. Only 2 kilometres from Les Ormes Golf and Holiday Park,15 minutes from Le Tronchet Golf Course and 20 minutes from the lovely beaches of Northern Brittany. A short walk from St.Leonard for restaurant, bars and shop for the times you want to leave your car at home. An excellent area for walking and cycling, with facilities nearby for horse riding,treetop rope walks, paintball, go-karting.

The property is ideally located for visiting Combourg with its beautiful 11Th. Century Castle, by the lake formerly the family home of the famous writer Rene de Chateaubriand. Cancale famous for seafood restaurants, especially fresh oysters and mussels. Dinard a fashionable seaside resort with lovely beaches and excellent restaurants including a Casino for those of an adventurous spirit. Dinan with its fortified walls and beautiful Port area for boat trips along the river and restaurants. Mont St. Michel with its medieval buildings and spectacular coastal views and St. Malo the ancient Walled Pirate City with excellent shopping and restaurants are certainly worth visiting. Do not miss the local weekly markets at Dol (Saturday morning) and Combourg (Monday morning) for fresh produce and that French atmosphere.

Magical Getaway

When we arrived at the property we felt we'd certainly chosen the right place for our Birthday celebrations, it was more idyllic than the picture suggested. The directions to find the house were very good as we didn't have a sat nav! The location was excellent, close to some nearby villages, towns, golf course and lake. The house was immaculate, very tastefully decorated, spacious and beyond comfortable.
The owners were just lovely, very helpful with lots of local knowledge, on hand when you needed to ask something but otherwise they just left you to enjoy the place. There's lots to explore outside of the house too so it's very easy to spend the day around the house and relax in the beautiful surroundings. Our favourite room in the house was the conservatory; you'll see what we mean when you get there! I would recommend this property to rent to anyone, in fact we are going back with some friends later this year.
We had a wonderful evening for our Birthday celebrations at a restaurant in Dol (de Breton) called the The Saint Samson, the atmosphere was wonderful, the staff were friendly and helpful, the food was well priced and so tasty. There are many restaurants in near by Dol, even a pizza place and a kebab house for those needing something less 'French'. There are many golden beaches near by; St Malo's town is a great historical/shopping experience all in one. Mont St Michael is not too far away either and there's lots of fishing ports to visit and try their catch of the day like Cancale. We very much enjoyed visiting the local lake where we all had a go at being a monkey for the day climbing through the tree's (supported by a harness of course!) which we followed with a well deserved picnic.
All in all a wonderful place to stay, the only potentially negative comment I would make is that it wouldn't be suitable for people with 'very' small children with there being a rather large lake at the property. Rush to book for this summer otherwise I'm sure they'll be fully booked and you wouldn't want to miss this one!! Myself and my family are counting the days until we go back.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Romantic Getaway
