Situated in one of the 'Most Beautiful Villages in France', Lourmarin is ideally placed in the Luberon National Park in the heart of Provence, 30 mins from Avignon, Aix and Arles. A fully furnished studio apartment with large bedroom (double bed, 1.60m), small well-equipped kitchen, large bathroom with separate shower and bath, private shaded courtyard area with chairs, table, barbecue etc. A newly converted apartment 50m2 (2 rooms); large salon with a sofa bed (160cm) and fully equipped corner kitchen. 3 French doors open onto a south facing, sunlit courtyard garden. The large vaulted bedroom (140cm bed) with en-suite shower room is down a few steps from the salon and remains cool in summer. Linen included. The house is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac in the village, close to all amenities, a 50m from the Chateau de Lourmarin and the centre of the village with its cafés, restaurants, shops, Friday market and art galleries See our site, please ask for details.

Lourmarin is designated as one of the most beautiful villages in France. The village centre hosts many excellent restaurants. Cafes spill out onto the pavements and there are many galleries, designer boutiques, antique and gift shops. There is an excellent Friday morning market of local produce and artisan wares. There is always a lively programme of events, including antique, book, truffle and other fairs, free music concerts, film evenings, etc. During the summer, the Protestant Temple is used as one of the venues for the Roque d'Antheron international piano festival. The Chateau sponsors a musical programme, as well. Other activities catered for include: cookery courses, private French lessons, tennis, swimming, biking, etc. The village is situated in unspoilt Provence, on the south side of the Luberon Mountains. The beautiful countryside surrounding the village includes fields of cherry trees, grape vines and olive orchards.

Loved our stay in Lourmarin, a pristine, charming, largely undiscovered village, a gracious lady of a village that whispers her charms rather than shouting them in a tourist trap manner. The apartments offered by Rose and Robin are in the most convenient and quiet location at the edge of the village. Never used the car unless leaving the village. Postcard views, steps to all the amenities of the village life. Loved dining at L'Antiquaire for a special lunch; enjoyed the "center of activity" ambience of Cafe Gaby for most of our meals and snacks. Never found better cappucino anywhere else for the rest of our trip elsewhere! You feel like you are staying with old friends, and Rose and Robin are the consummate hosts, offering thorough, personal advice on everything large and small. Clean, quiet accommodations with wonderful bed, large bathroom with wonderful shower and tub, and romantic dinners on the courtyard terrace. Would recommend to anyone who wants to stay in this part of Provence. You'll remember your congenial hosts, and dream of beautiful Lourmarin forever.

Schlaf- und Badezimmer ohne Fenster

Die Wohnung courtyard apartment ist nagelneu und sehr gut ausgestattet. Die Vermieterin ist nett und auch an der Lage gibt es nichts Auszusetzen. Trotzdem erlebten wir eine unangenehme Überraschung. Schlaf- und Badezimmer des neuen Appartements befinden sich ein paar Treppen tiefer in einem ehemaligen Keller. Das heißt, man zieht in der Küche den Kopf ein und steigt zum Schlafen und Duschen hinab. Beide Räume sind sehr niedrig und ohne Fenster, ohne Türe und ohne Belüftung. Jedes Geräusch, das man auf der Toilette macht, ist in der ganzen Wohnung zu hören. Das Minibad hat zudem eine laute Druckluftabsauganlage, weil es so niedrig liegt, dass alles Abwasser hoch gepumpt werden muss. In dem fensterlosen Schlafzimmer bekamen wir bald Beklemmungen, da man nur auf Wände schaut. Zudem wurden nach ein paar Tagen die Kleider feucht. Ein elektrischer Luftentfeuchter steht zwar bereit, aber in den Ferien möchte ich nicht in eine unterirdische Höhle ziehen. Für Räume ohne Fenster ist die Wohnung entschieden zu teuer. Wir hatten Gott sei Dank gutes Wetter. Bei Regen stelle ich es mir unerträglich vor.
