Location: Serviers-et-Labaume in France
Car: necessary
Serviers is characterised by an old village situated at the foot of a promontory, over which stands the 17th century chateau. We have been told that this little stretch of road on which we are situated, used to be called Le Petit Nice, because we are mostly completely sheltered from the Mistral. We have often enjoyed wonderful breakfasts on the Terrace in glorious sunshine, completely oblivious to the fact that the Mistral wind is blowing vigorously at the bottom of the hill.
For those who want to explore the area, there are so many things to see and do within easy driving distance. We would recommend visiting: Pont du Gard, Avignon,The Beachside Restaurants at La Grand Motte (Camargue); Gorge d’Ardeche; Plage de L’Espiguette (a great place for a picnic on an unspoilt beach) Aigues Mortes; Les Baux de Provence; La Fermes aux Crocodiles (crocodile farm unique in Europe)
