The villa is located in the beautiful hillside village of Serviers, peacefully located at the foot of a promontory, just 5 km away from the beautiful medieval town of Uzes. Villa Montfaucon is a typical French villa nestled in the trees in a private garden with spectacular views from the outside Terrace and the pool over the vineyards of the Gariguette to the historic town of Uzes. The property has been refurbished to a very high standard by the owners and features original terracotta tiles throughout. The property includes five double bedrooms (two in the attic space) and three bathrooms. The main living area leads onto a long terrace from which you can enjoy beautiful views out to Uzes. There is a further outside terrace on the ground floor and ample sitting for outdoor dining in the courtyard area. The 10 metre by 5 metre swimming pool has a Bord Naturalle and more lovely views through the Trees onto the Garriguess. The pool is surrounding by wood decking.

Serviers is characterised by an old village situated at the foot of a promontory, over which stands the 17th century chateau. We have been told that this little stretch of road on which we are situated, used to be called Le Petit Nice, because we are mostly completely sheltered from the Mistral. We have often enjoyed wonderful breakfasts on the Terrace in glorious sunshine, completely oblivious to the fact that the Mistral wind is blowing vigorously at the bottom of the hill. For those who want to explore the area, there are so many things to see and do within easy driving distance. We would recommend visiting: Pont du Gard, Avignon,The Beachside Restaurants at La Grand Motte (Camargue); Gorge d’Ardeche; Plage de L’Espiguette (a great place for a picnic on an unspoilt beach) Aigues Mortes; Les Baux de Provence; La Fermes aux Crocodiles (crocodile farm unique in Europe)

Additional information about rental rates

  • Non refundable rental deposit of 20% of the weekly rental is required to secure the booking.
  • A £300 security deposit will be required with the full payment four weeks prior to arrival. The security deposit will be refunded in full if there are no breakages or damage. Replacement costs for any damage/breakages will be deducted from the security deposit.
  • Prices include cleaning, linen, hand and bath towels, and pool towels plus all utility costs except for telephone costs (if used telephone will be charged at cost). Bike hire (including delivery and collection of the bikes to the villa) can be arranged on request.
    It may be possible to arrange for a meal to be available (home cooked locally) on your arrival for you to heat up. Please contact the owner for menu and prices.

  • All the bathrooms have been recently refurbished to a high standard featuring Villeroy and Boch and Porcelanosa fittings. The ground floor and first floor bathrooms feature large shower enclosure with large shower heads and very good water pressure! These bathrooms also have heated towel rails.

  • Please note the head height in the attic area is c 6'3' and is although suitable for adults is a perfect space for children. The stairway leading up to the attic has a two low beams half way up the second flight which means that adults have to duck underneath to enter the attic area. All the bedrooms are located close to a bathroom and have wardrobe and/or drawer space/ and mirror. There is a dressing room adjacent to one of the bedrooms in the attic space.

Notes: This was our family home before we moved back to England last year and so the villa is extremely well equipped with (hopefully) everything you will need for a great holiday. The pool, gardens and house are managed and clean by a very nice French couple who live in the village. The village offers a great insight into typical French life including the daily bread/croissant pastry delivery by van each morning by the local boulangerie. There is a very large supermarket (Intermarche) pharmacy, garage etc just 2km from the village and vineyards in almost every directions. There is also a very nice and acclaimed restaurant at the foot of the village (within walking distance). Of course there is also the beautiful town of Uzes just 5km away. Uzes is famous for its fetes and festivals which run throughout the year and its bustling famous market on Saturdays.
