Alqueria de Morayma is a Rural Tourism Centre located in the South side of Siera Nevada. It is made up of traditional rural apartments, homesteads and farm buildings, which have been transformed into a hotel and apartment complex. Each one of them has its own independent entrance, so that guests can enjoy the experience of staying in a traditional local village. Alqueria de Morayma is surrounded by vineyards, almond, fig, olive and fruit trees and it has also got a hermitage, stables and a wine and olive press. Alqueria de Morayma tries to show and maintain the traditional way of doing things in la Alpujarra regarding its architecture, meals, farming and production and harvesting methods. Guests can visit our wine and olive production museums, taste traditional meals in our restaurant and join one of our different courses, or if they prefer it they can try one of the walking routes around the local villages.

Alqueria de Morayma is located in Cádiar in the South side of Sierra Nevada. From Alqueria de Morayma you can see the South area of the Sierra Nevada National Park, as well as the villages of Lobras, Tímar, Nieles, Narila, Alcutar, Juviles and Bérchules. Cádiar is one of the commercial centres of the area, with street market on the 3rd and the 18th every month. Its traditional pastries are also very typical in the area. Bérchules is full of fountains and squares. The Church Square was built in 1530 on the remains of an old mosque. Tímar, although without many inhabitants, has beautiful streets with arches and Alpujarreña traditional architecture. It is famous because of its traditional textiles. Valor is known because Don Fernado de Valor y Córdoba, also known as Abén Humeya, was born here. He fought against the king and the Christians in 1568, but finally the moorish were defeated, so they had to leave, This is reflected in the traditional festivity of Moros y Cristianos.
