Exquisite cottage, friendly people

This cottage is the perfect weekend getaway. It is decorated with much taste and has any equipment one might need. Particularly, the kitchen is at a high standard. The hosts are very friendly; upon arrival, we found a set table for afternoon tea, complete with home-made scones and jam, and fresh flowers.
We were greeted by a nice bottle of wine, local eggs and bread and Diane's nice smile.
The cottage was very clean when we arrived, and the furniture and interior is kept in very good condition. Towels and linen are luxurious, and we found shampoo + soap for the forgetful traveller, much to our delight.
The cottage is part of an old rural courtyard which has been refurbished recently and with attention to the details. The garden garden behind the house -- which also has a table and chairs -- is very nice and looks quite mediterranean.
With a car, the lakes and Carlisle and Penrith are just a short ride away. For those having to rely on public transport or their feet, this cottage might be a bit remote, however. But this also means that there is no noise from through roads.
We didn't have time to check out the local pub, this is on the to-do list for a hopefully soon next visit.
The only negative point is that we had to return back home so soon! Oh yes, also one ceiling spot light in the bedroom wasn't working. Isn't it great if a broken light bulb is the only thing you can complain about (Especially when there are others so you don't really need it)?
If the fireplace had been a real one instead of an electrical lookalike, we wouldn't have returned the keys to the house at all!
