Lone Oak

The lone oak provoded an excellent base for our weeks holiday. The surrouding area of somerset and longleat was all we expected it to be and more. As for the cottage itself, it was very comfortable, and had all the facilities we required. A bath would have been nice for the little ones, but the shower was adequate. The beds were all extremely comfortable. On arrival we found the cottage was very clean and everything was in order. The owner of the property was polite and very helpful. The decor of the cottage was beginning to look a little tired, but thats just that is the only thing I could find fault with. The swimming pool which is located 5 mins walk away was just the right size to get a good swim. The changing facilites were under renovation when we visited, but sure they will measure up when completed. I would recommend this property to any of my friends.
Owner's Response: Thank you very much for your informative review. We are glad that you enjoyed your holiday in Lone Oak.
We have been aware that only one shower room for up to six guests is less than everyone is used to at home, so the builders are starting another shower room at Lone Oak this month, and it should be completed by December. This will greatly improve your comfort.
Our second cottage, The Tallet, is more suitable for families with pre-school children as it has a bath, and many other essentials for young children. There is a baby bath at Lone Oak, and the shower has hand rails so can be used by children with parental supervision.
Lone Oak is also suitable for those with mobility problems, (Level M1) with handrails and no stairs.
The swimming pool, which is available in June, July and August is situated in our farmhouse garden 5 minutes from Lone Oak-the changing room is now complete.
Families staying at Lone 'Oak are welcome to bring a picnic down to the play area in the farmhouse garden, which has a climbing frame, swings, a Wendy House & ride on toys.
Longleat is a particular attraction in the area, but there are many more-Wookey Hole, Cheddar Caves, Bath, Yeovilton Air Museum, Haynes Motor Museum, Street Factory shops and many National Trust properties.
Do come to Clanville Manor Holiday Cottages, and enjoy all that Somerset has to offer!
