The apartment is on the first floor of a renovated country house overlooking the 8th hole of the most picturesque golf course in Emilia Romagna, with lovely views of the historic centre of Bologna and the surrounding hills. The situation is so peaceful that a huge variety of birds live in the large garden in the springtime, but the airport and city centre are only 15 minutes' drive away. The perfect solution for combining a golf break with a cultural holiday, as Venice, Florence, Ferrara and Verona are within easy reach, as are the long, sandy beaches of the Adriatic coast. The apartment is air-conditioned, and has one double bedroom, a twin-bedroom and two single bedrooms, a spacious living room with kitchen area, and two small bathrooms, both with shower, but no bath. All floors are either parquet or tiles. Bologna is famous for its fantastic food, and the owners will be very happy to help you choose from the many reasonably priced 'trattorie' and farmhouse restaurants nearby.

The apartment is in a secluded position, on the edge of the Appenine hills, but just 15 minutes' drive from the centre of Bologna, one of the most beautiful cities in Italy. Famous for its 38 kilometres of porticoes, which originated in the 11Th century, Bologna is home to the oldest University in Europe, and the Basilica of San Petronio overlooking Piazza Maggiore is the fifth largest church in Italy. The Piazza is a huge pedestrian square surrounded by some of Bologna's most impressive medieval and Renaissance buildings, with attractive bars where you can sit and watch the fashion-conscious Italians go about their business. There are plenty of excellent restaurants to choose from - the famous 'tortellini' are a must. If you like the country life, just up the road from the apartment you can explore the 'Strada dei Vini e dei Sapori' a route through the hills with vineyards and farmhouse restaurants to visit. For motorbike enthusiasts, the Ducati factory is only ten minutes away.

Golf course details: The Bologna Golf Club was founded in 1959, and the course was designed by Cotton & Harris. It is par 72 for a total of 6,484 yards. The first nine holes were inaugurated in 1961, and the final nine holes in 1964. Since then improvements have been made by the architect Peter Alliss. The course is beautifully manicured, and varied, with wonderful views of the hills and the centre of Bologna. On a clear day you can see the snow-capped Alps to the north. The course is closed on Mondays, and at the weekends there are often competitions, but otherwise visitors are always welcome, and the course is extremely quiet during the week. In the summer months visitors playing the course can also use the outdoor swimming pool at the clubhouse.

Other Activities: A round of golf for visitors includes use of the club's outdoor swimming pool during the summer

We cannot heap enough praise on Judith and Alberto for their fantastic hospitality; their attention to detail is commendable. They have created a wonderful apartment that provides an ideal base for exploring the towns and cities of Bologna, Ferrara, Ravenna and Parma. It is also only a short drive into the magnificent countryside of the surrounding hills. We enjoyed our week here tremendously and would not hesitate to reccommend this rental to our friends and family. Thank you Judith and Alberto! Chris and Helen, Exeter, UK.

Very beautiful and confortable house

We are five friends who have visited Bolonia this summer and we loved it.We rented this home and we are very happy for did it. It is a quiet place with excellent views and good communications by road or highway to Bologna or any place. We have rented a car and we traveled to many of the beautiful cities of Italy from there: Venice, Verona, San Marino, Padova, Ferrara, Modena, Parma, Florence ... it is very close to the highway are very good and quick.The house is well decorated and well equipped in every sense: two bathrooms, large and nice bedrooms, spacious lounge and beautiful kitchen very well equipatted ... Finally, it is very pleasant to live in the house because there is a beautiful countryside and mountain views or because it is located on a golf course, that makes it even more attractive. Another thing to emphasize is that is not heard no noise, making it an ideal place to relax.We spent 9 days there, fantastic: we enjoyed calm, we drove on to other cities to see monuments (the motorway is nearby) or spend nights dining at the wonderful garden of the house ... For this reason, I recommend this house anyone: singles, couples or young couples with children, or friends ... because it is the ideal place to spend holidays.I ´d like to thank the treatment of owners (Alberto, thanks for everything) which has been impressive: never lacked for anything and often ask for us if we need something or if we feel comfortable. It was great because he had gel in the bathrooms, towels ... And the first night we arrived we had in the fridge soft drinks, beer and snacks, which is welcome. I think many of us repeat it because it is a house that is located in a beautiful place of Italy and ideal for any type of entertainment: cultural tourism, rural or even the beach ... I want to thank all to Alberto. Javier and friends from Spain, Granada.

Culture, rest and the best food in Italy

My family spent a wonderful long weekend here in May and if you are looking for a perfect getaway to combine rest with culture in a beautiful setting then it would be hard to find a better spot. We all loved the charming flat which was very clean and well maintained - excellent value and certainly met every comfort. It was bright, elegant and modern with a peaceful, rural setting in the middle of a golf course (perfect for golf lovers!) with wonderful views over Bologna. There is a large garden which we really appreciated - great for relaxing in over a glass of wine after all the noise and bustle of a city day out.

The owners were delightful and could not have been more helpful and recommended us to some amazing restaurants both in the country and the city (and we have travelled around Italy a lot so we know good italian food when we eat it!!). The city of Bologna itselt is within easy access and is an amazing city with so much to explore and in our opinion easily matches some of the better known Italian cities. In fact, looking at the map this area seems to be ideally situated for access to both coasts, many famous cities and the italian lakes which are all within a 2 hour drive. We would most definitely recommend this place and have already made plans to return next year for longer so we can take advantage of the other nearby places to visit - we loved the combination of returning to such a tranquil place in the countryside whilst still having so much culture on our doorstep. Obviously a car is essential!!

Perfect getaway, rest and culture!

Had a really relaxing break, the setting is so green and peaceful, and very quiet, since its actually practically on the golf course.
The flat is spotlessly clean and well-equipped and we had a wonderful hospitable welcome from the owners. It has fantastic views over the course to Bologna.
You can walk out of the flat onto the course and stroll along the path. I think the golf course itself is quite challenging, but beautiful to look at.
We were perfectly located for visiting Bologna itself, and we drove to Venice and Florence for day trips ( road networks very good. )
We found some fantastic, quite cheap, places to eat nearby. Would definitely recommend.
