Il Giardino is located in the hills just above the village of Stiava and reached by a private road. Just across the valley is the Village of Bargecchia who's church bells are said to have inspired Puccini to write the opera 'Tosca'. The house is surrounded by 20 acres of vineyard, olive groves and woodland with views to coast. Thanks to it's location the area keeps it's green and verdant look for all of the year. The resort town of Viareggio with it's beaches, restaurants and excellent shopping is 15 minutes by car and Historic Lucca 25 minutes. Between the coastal plane of Versilia, with its pine woods and lakes, to the Appenine Mountains famous for their marble mines, and stunning scenery the area really offer something for every one. It is possible to partake of almost every sport and activity imaginable from Golf to Skiing, Sailing to Walking, Paragliding to fishing. The area is also close to many famous cultural areas such as Firenze, Pisa and Sienna with all they have to offer.
